RE: RAM 500 thrust rating
My RAM is limited to 151k top end rpm, the Modellbau says they are going to 155k....so if one could get the Modellbau ecu I think you could get the extra thrust.....maybe not.........Perry

RE: RAM 500 thrust rating
At 155k a true thrust reading of 12 lbs is about right. At 150k it will be about 11.25 lbs. These are out of the airplane on test stand type readings. In a bypass and with a tailpipe you will see less.

RE: RAM 500 thrust rating
I must agree with turnnburn, the RAM is a "12 lbs thrust" class turbine but actual figure at 150,000 is about 11 to 11.5 lbs, that's what mine produces on a test stand. I actually saw the official rating of 11 pounds in a document a long time ago but do not recall where. To produce 14 pounds the T-500 must be using a different compressor to increase compression ratio. The rpm/lb ratio of the RAM 500 is about 8k, I have my doubts that an additional 5k in rpm's would produce even a pound of additional thrust, but then again I'm no expert

RE: RAM 500 thrust rating
The RAM500 has a peak rpm of 150K. Initially they advertised it at 11#, later they upped the advertised thrust to 12#. The Modellbau/T500 has a peak rpm of 155K and is advertised at 13#. I would expect a certain amount of variability from individual engines that have been checked.
