MEGABAR MAIDEN FLIGHTS VIDEO
Amidst the bad news/controversy posted here recently, there was happy success today with the Maiden flights of Sean's MEGABAR. I call it the "BullShark" as it is rather shark shaped and wide.
Sean flew it great after a very fast basically re-designed kit build. Congrats to him.
The Maiden flight is posted on the my website. Right now, the file is about 90megs so I'll upload a smaller version tomorrow for the slower connection users. Yes, it's late and I made a spelling mistake.
On the second flight, we witnessed some parts fly off. A testament to a great jet and builder is that when parts fly off your jet and it still flies and allows you to land safely, you know you have a great build and product. Video is available as well.
Enjoy.

RE: MEGABAR MAIDEN FLIGHTS VIDEO
A couple of issues to work out.
On the flap switch of the JR 10x, not the slider, I didn't know it, but there is an activate button that will make the throttle control the flaps. I don't think I activated it, but might have, I had a buddy here a few nights ago, and he was fine tuning some programming, and maybe he did it, but on final, I went to add power, and the airplane basically dropped. What I found out later was adding throttle had pulled the flaps up.
I didn't even know till today that there was an option in the radio to do that. I thought I had some F'd up mix somewhere and could not find it.
So 10x users take note.
On the second flight, the canopy and main hatch departed the airplane. I'm pretty sure I caused this problem because I built an aft former around the pipe that would allow zero pressure release in the fuse. I went to full throttle on the second flight and I had thought I would be forcing all the air to go out the pipe only. Apparently that is not the case.
Both pieces were located and are in good shape. It's late, but the airplane will be back to flight status tomorrow.

I was lucky enough to bear witness to the Megabar maiden flight. Outstanding job Sean!! I was very impressed with the smooth characteristics of this model. I was amazed by how slowly it would fly and how rock solid it looked in the air. The "parts" that came off in flight were the two hatches, and from the looks of it the hatch latch was not seated fully causing one to come off therefore causing the second to pop off from inside pressure. The airplane seemed unaware it lost hatches, Sean made a couple more circuits and brought it down nice and easy. Again, great job Sean, you deserve it.
