The lithium mag cells will hold a higher discharge rating.

Kinda depends on what turbine.

For the 120 the -mag is the best, the ion will not start the 120. Have since went back to the NiMh

The engine is a Jetcat Titan going in a Kingcat.

The mag cells do work on kero start. Or you can use a li poly as well they work fine.

For the price, Li-ion. I am curious why everyone is saying mags?? Because it's the newest and most expensive??

I would say it's because the Li-Mg can supply almost ten times more current than the Li-Ion which are rated for something like 8.6 amps on the 4300ma packs. I don't understand how they can recommend the Li-Ions for a large turbine with kero start.

JetCat does not recommend Li-ion for turbines with kero start. They work great on propane start turbines.

Actually, I admittedly screwed up.....I meant to say Li-Poly, not Li-ion. I agree 100% that Li-ion is not up to taoday's high power demanding servos etc.

I would go with Li-Poly over Li-Mag.....purely a cost issue.

From the [link=http://www.jetcatusa.com]WEB site JetCat USA[/link]:

JetCat USA is now offering Duralite Lithium Manganese batteries. With their capability for sustained 20C discharge rate, they are perfect for all our engines, even the P200 with kerosene start. They are about the same size and weight as our standard NiCad but over 3 times the capacity! Unlike LiPoly, they have non combustible chemistry and are impact tolerant.

Best Regards

If these batteries "impact," replacing the batteries will be the least of your concern.
