Default RF interference in jets, need education please

I'm sure it's been covered but I could not find it in a search. Apologies if this is old ground....

Building a Boomer XL, my 1st jet. Having read occasional references to reciever interferance issues I thought I'd look a bit deeper.

Is this an older problem mitigated now by more advanced components? (ie shielded pumps and ECU's???)

Is this problem more or less relevant with the newer 2.4's??

On my bench is a new Titan, new 14MZ in 72, a Tamjet smoke pump, a Duralite power expander and RRS (redundant reciever system). I'll swap to 2.4 when Futaba ships the modules.

For CG considerations is it permissable to locate the two pumps up fwd, recvrs in mid-fuse and ECU farther back? Or do I need to just keep the pumps and ECU in back and move the recvr as far away as possible up fwd?

I'm sure there are other considerations I'm just too ignorant to ask about, but I'm really trying hard to do this right.

Any help is, as always, greatly appreciated.

1 Avoid carbonfibre near any rx cables.
2 Keep all servo leads clear of ECU and bat leads.
3 Twist leads from pumps.
4 Twist leads from ECO bat to ECU
5 Use whip aerial for 72 meg

for 2.4 FASST system refer to my thread.

Pick one side of the plane for the ECU, pump, etc wiring and plumbing to go.. use the other side for servo and antenna wire (don't get them to close to each other also)

Don't worry about the pump /ecu for the CG. Get them were it make sense and away from the radio stuff. Just use big batteries and put them on the nose (love those 5 cell nicads)

thx for advice to all........

don't want to use nicads tho, just dead weight in my humble opinion.

It's some extra $$$ for SURE but am replacing stock Jetcat 1250 mah and "big honkin" 4200 mah recvr bat w/ duralite li-ions. 3 x 4300 mah each. virtually identical weight for the 3 duralites totaling more than 3x the ECU capacity and more than 2x the rcvr capacity. plus the redundancy of the 2 radio bats.

I may have lots of problems ahead of me but bat capacity should not be one of 'em.
