After learning the hard way, I'm happy to share with prospective first time jet pilots a valuable clue to increase success. Whether it be a pusher or ducted fan (or turbine), Use a color scheme wich will allow you to determine to top side of the aircraft at all times! . Forget the military camouflogued schems which duplicates top and bottom. Remember, unless this is a reletively large craft, it will get real small pretty quick as it moves away from you. Me and my son bought two combat models f-16s and we've lost one primarily to color scheme. The second has been painted solid black with dayglo orange wing tips and nose on the top side only. Go to the hardware store and buy Rustoleum paint. Fuel proof and cheap. I just painted right over the grey and white camouflogue. I may even paint the bottom solid white. I should at least be able to tell what attitude its in and get a chance to get used to it.
Try it.
I'd like to hear from other jet pilots on this matter.
