cut a hole in the door to clear the servo screw and then cover it with a blister.
you can call it an ECM sensor or cows tiits (as they are often referred to on the Hornoooot)
you know my philosophy, it's a ............for criist sake

Actually the entire width of the arm is a problem, not just the nut holding the ball link.

As shown on Video link on post 664 no problem with servo arm on door.
Servo fitted to upper surface of mount, standard JR591 with standard arm.
Works perfectly.
All the best,
John C

Guess I'll need to get a low profile servo, because my setup is not any different than yours, John. (Nice job on the lights, BTW). I doubt my nose gear or bulkheads are any different from the other L39's out there, so it must be the deck height of the servo.
Here's a shot of the door closed on the servo and the servo install. It is a JR Sport ST126MG...need to go to the local hobby shop and sort through their stock of servos with a pair of calipers....

RE: What do you think about JETLEGEND L39?
Barry... two options here....
1) loose the servo grommets, will most likely drop the servo enough to clear the door.
2) use an aluminum arm, thread the bolt in and cut flush with the top side of the arm (then thread lock!)
I'll have to go back and look at the pics I took of the one I built, don't remember this being an issue at all [sm=confused.gif]

Barry,
Just put the servo on the other side of the mounting plate. Use a clevis it all lines up perfectly.

Hi All,
I try to find the best place to put my aerial.....
Can you post some pictures about your aerial fixation on the plane.
I have seen JetJohn have put just at the back of the canopy in the center of the fuselage, how do you have do it?

Hi Andreas,
Put three more flights on the Reaper, great fun.
It was pretty good wind wise, but the strip was ratther wet with some puddles. []
Put the buddy lead on & let a couple of friends have a go.
Great fun had by all, it is such a forgiving airframe.
Hope the strip drys out for this weekend.

RE: What do you think about JETLEGEND L39?
Hi Andreas,
Mk1 Wren 13lbs thrust manual start turbine in the reaper. Once you get off the ground it soon winds up to some quite good speed.
It is so smooth & reliable you can have some really good fun with it. As you say, very forgiving, but what a floater.
Plus when it is half way through the flight & half way through its fuel load you start to get some good vertical performance.
I needed the fix to shake off the rust.
Just waiting for some decent weather.[]

RE: What do you think about JETLEGEND L39?
Did anyone have problems with the Tire hitting the inside of the fuse where it sits. When I retract it the tyre is hitting the inside of the fuse (where it curves near the intake) and not allowing the retract to lock. do you have to raise the gear on the mount at all? Is that what those metal parts in the LG set are for?

RE: What do you think about JETLEGEND L39?
Jeremy,
Yes, that is correct. I had the same observation when building mine. There are very thin rectangle alu corrective shims included in the kit to put under the retract units to get them in the correct angle, so they lock properly without friction at all when retracted, and having the struts still perpendicular when the bird stands on its legs. It is described earlier in this thread.
You will have to repeat this "trial and error" sequence a few times, in combination with the correct toe-in of the wheels. It is quite time consuming, but worth it to spend a lot of attention to it.
Nicolas.

The problem I'm now having is the strut won't allow the gear door to completely close. Did you have to take any material out of the door?

RE: What do you think about JETLEGEND L39?
Andreas,
I still have not been able to Maiden L39.
But have tried out a small Digital camera on my Reaper.
First try at our clubs open day Sat 12th April, result as link.
Will fit it into L39 cockpit.
All the best,
