Yes, it is a JL. I don't have the battaries or balancing in the nose yet. Also no cockpit or pilots. When allis said and done I'm sure I will be up at the 32or33 pounds.

RE: What do you think about JETLEGEND L39?
Guys
Has anyone weighed the airframe out of the box? That is all airframe and landing gear parts. I am trying to calculate a finished weight with the components I already have before purchasing one of these.
regards
John

It seems that's the magic number. If you can lower it will be of
benefit for you. The main problem about its weight is the turbine
has to be a 32-36 punder to be in the safe side for any problem
that may happen. I had this problem in 3 occasions. Even though
a 28 lbs. turbine will get you in the air as in mine, BUT NO aggresive
movements.

Hi Denny,
Sorry canopy damaged by the shipping. I have ordered another one and will send it right to you. I have add one extra layer of cardboard so even a fat *SS won't put a dent on it.
We will show off our L39 cockpit (scale one) at Jet Power 2009 in Germany. Will send you a photo when it's ready.
Thanks
Mike

Instead of watching TV, I read most of this thread all over again, last night.
Nice.... we almost reached the 100000 hits !
(I stopped hitting the "view" button and went to bed. LOL)

RE: What do you think about JETLEGEND L39?
Hello,
I have two JL L 39 actual in use.
In the old one (camouflage) I have two servos on the elevator (HITEC 5645) and in the new one (grey) only one (HITEC 5955 TG).
The dry weights, thrust and CG
old one 16,2 kg, 14 kp thrust and 5 1/4 inch
new one 15,6kg, 16,2 thrust and 6 inch
in both no lead in the nose.
The only different is, the new one rotates a little bit better during take off.
Nearly 250 flights on the old one and 7 with the grey one.

Hello!
Estonian coloured L39 (ES-RAZ) flow maiden flight 15.august at Jämi airfield Finland.
Two flights and no problems at all. Gears working well and handling "rough" landings too
Special thanks to Janne Seppänen,he was the testpilot for the first flights!
Following weeks will be learning and flying L39!

Thanks Browmj
Estonian airforce had 3 L-39 in use for training. One painted like this, one like ceffis plane and one painted green-brown camopaint.
This fleet operated from Ämari airbase, Vasalemma county. 45 km from Tallinn.
Here is picture from Tallin Ulemiste airport. ES-RAZ landing

RE: What do you think about JETLEGEND L39?
To all L-39, 1/5 pilots,
Recently we have a report of near loss of airframe due to rudder flutters on 1/5 L39 Global Jet ARF PRO. Our investigation shows that the original set up of rudder servo per Jet Legend's original design was the cause of the flutter. A slight spongy feels on the rudder will easily trigger the flutter of vertical fin.
In the earlier discussion on the RCU
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_63...51/key_/tm.htm
Several pilots have modified their L39 to battle this flutter problems and achieve successful results.
Our demo pilots have been flying with the new modifications with success. Please see this link for modification details
http://www.globaljetclub.com/Aircraf...ication-GJC-JL
We urge you all to inspect your rudder set up and make sure that they are solid, and ample of servo torque to control the rudder at high airflow loads or modifying that per our recommendation as seen at the above mentioned link
If you have any suggestions or recommendation, please feel free to contact our tech support at [email protected]
Thank you and have many safe flights.
Regards,

RE: What do you think about JETLEGEND L39?
Hi Mike,
this is an old story, that the JL version doesn't work well.
If you turn the servo 180° (the servoarm shows to the bottom) you can glue the controlhorn in the balsawood, in which is the rudder hinge glued.
Otherwise you have to fill in a lot of epoxy in the rudder to get the horn fixed.

RE: What do you think about JETLEGEND L39?
HI Christian
Thanks for your prayer.
Here are my new rides. (The F-4E ED belongs to Dave Murray)
Look at the winglets and lights. Will post the drop tanks later.
Too bad we won't be able to show that at the Jet Power. Will be there next year.
I am doing the testing on the wing let this month. will update you the flight report. These wing lets and tip tanks can be swapped back and forth. The only different is that you have to move the aileron servos from the tip tank to the bottom of the wings. It's safer to have the servos linked directly to ailerons, instead of using torsion rods per factory standard.
We have pretty much resolves all the flutter issues and structural issues on our PRO version. Nice flying machines.

Hi Denny,
Getting close to finish up the cockpit by the end of this month, and will start to deliver the first batch in late October. This is our prototype, pre-production. The production one will have more details than this one.
