Hi guys;
I have made a mold for an added 2.1litters fuel tank giving
you a tatal of 5.6 on board fuel.
It sits on top of the JL L-39 existing tanks.
If you need one I have extras. They are tested to
2 psi under water for leaks and they are ready to install.
Nothing to do but install and use. I have been using it
in my plane since day one. Here are some pics.
If you look closely in the pic at my flying field, you can see my
tank in the plane. Over the winter I will reinstall the cockpit wall.
The tank comes with instructions for the mod if your plane is
already built.
All my custom tanks are tested prior to delivery.
Camlex Enterprise is now selling them.

Yours is an excellent additional fuel tank Eugene, and just the answer for my quest to carry more fuel. I'll be running a Merlin 160, so it'll be thirsty. I'll definitely take one of your extras, so I'll send you an email (probably later today) to exchange addresses and arrange for payment/shipping.
I was really hoping to have smoke in the L-39, so I was looking at putting two 32 oz tanks (one fuel, one smoke) above the stock tanks. But that still wouldn't be much extra fuel. If I use your 2.1 liter fuel tank,,, do you by change have any magic answer as to where I could put a smoke tank not too far away from the C of G???
Thanks,
Steve

I have to make one for you and snug it in a
good spot in the plane with easy access.
I will work on it over the weekend.
If you like it, I will try it out and you can chose
to try it yourself. How much OZ's would you like it to hold??
I fly my plane with the Rhino at about half throttle and it is fast
so your Merlin will have no trouble with a little extra weight
trust me. I do verticals with no issues.
Is your plane the New or the Old version??
Which color did you get your plane??

Mine is the new G2 version in the Sand/Olive Camo scheme, like yours, painted outside the mold.
I guess I would like about 35-50 OZ of smoke if possible. I guess it would depend on where it would fit and how far ahead of the C of G it would be. I wouldn't want the plane to be way too nose heavy on take-off or a good part of the flight.
That's an awesome offer to make up a custom one. Thank you kindly Eugene.

Nice to here that Madmodelman
let us all know what you think of the kit.
Post some good pics.
I was thinking of it but the wife says I
have to replace our house floor first.
I decided to get a Cervix Gyro instead. (Cheaper)
I will be participating in the 2015 TOP GUN (Frank Tiano)
Pro-Am sport (Beginer) with the JL L-39 .
Need the funds.

Hi Eugene,
While you're looking at a possible location for a smoke tank, please keep in mind that I'll be installing the JL detailed cockpit, so clearance between it and the bottom of the fuse will be limited. Not wanting to be ahead of the C of G, this morning I took a look at the area above and either side of the inlet ducting (around the aft/side portions of your third fuel tank) that can be accessed from the turbine bay. Maybe that area could work,,, but I imagine that might be what you were already thinking.
Anyhoooo... If you can come up with a smoke tank, I'll definitely buy it along with your third fuel tank.
Thanks,
Steve

I have a cockpit to Steve.
Do you mean 350ml to 500ml because 35oz to 50oz is a lot of oil.
Let me know.
Just for a thaught, I balance my plane like we do on the real airliners by draining all the fuel out
as if the engines were using it up (called unusable fuel) by the collector tank
and balance the plane lwith the remaining fuel.
What the engine can not use will always remain in your plane.
Yes, that`s the place I was thinking about placing it.
Your C/G will not change much due to it is always a nose heavy plane with your fuel.
Any how when you fill it up you will be using it up in flight and if you don't, your plane will be still be nose heavy due to the fuel.
I will be molding it to the same shape as the intake wall. You will have to supply the tubings for it though.
I'll keep you informed.
By the way, you can still see the remaining fuel in your plane like I do just by looking by the hatch.
If you can see the fuel, you have 1 litter left. I place litter marks on the tank rear and forward wall.

Hi Eugene,
No, I was referring to ounces (not milliliters). I used to run a 24 OZ smoke tank in my 1/3 scale Cap 232 and found it to run out pretty quickly. The Jet-Tech Dual fuel tank for Boomerang Elan/Torus/XL holds 90 Oz (US) fuel and 35 OZ (US) smoke. A few of my friends have them and they usually run out of smoke before the end of the flight. I guess 50 OZ might be a little over kill, but if you are able to squeeze in a 35 (or 40) OZ tank, that would be great.
Certainly no problem about me supplying the tubing,,, but will the tank be set up to install a standard stopper?
That's great that you're able to see the amount of fuel remaining (and the amounts are marked). I wasn't sure if you could see the fuel through the tank, and when I asked, I forgot that the rear of the tank would be visible from the engine bay.
Again, many thanks for doing these tanks Eugene. It really helps out.

Ok, I am going to ask a quick question. I am going to be purchasing a Jet Legend 1/5 L-39 from a gentleman that had a self admitted not so perfect landing. On the right wing the gear block pushed up and cracked the top sheeting leaving a line. He was able to taxi back to the pits under the planes power and that is when he noticed that. It also cracked the gear block but it is all clean breaks. So, this is a 2 part question. First, is there anyone here in the states that is good with doing repairs to these types of wings where once purchased, I can send them wing to them. Second, what are you guys using for pilot figures in the 1/5 scale? This has the cockpit in it, just no pilots. Oh, before I forget this is the earlier version not the G2 or newest version. It is the olive drab scheme. Thanks in advance.

Jason, we have extra sets of wings but in different color scheme if you want to get them in the States. for the pilot figure, you can try any 1/6 scale pilot figure like this one

Thanks Mike. This is the scheme that I have. The first picture is from the GJC website and the second is of the actual jet I am referring to and the 3rd is of the crack in the wing. I talked to Jose the other day from GJC and from what I gather the version 2 wing doesn't match up with the version 1 so the getting it to fit this plane would not work or at least very easily. That is why I am trying to find out if fixing this wing (the original) is something that can be done or if it is not worth the time and effort. Thanks again.

Hi Jason, you really need to check the internal structure. The G 1 has a butt joint on the main spar near the landing gear plate area. The G2 has stronger spar but the wing mounts and exterior dimensions are the same as G2. Make sure that's not cracked or the wings might break apart. You can reinforced them by adding Hysol. I think you might be able to order the old wings from us. it's a special order and we can ask Factory to see if they have some extra wings around.

Hi Blainer48;
That looks like a bad crack. It can be repaired but you would
be putting the hole plane at risk for a few bucks.
I would replace it as per my experience.
I have a friend that make very nice 1:5 pilots.
He made some for me. I can ask him to make some pilots for you.
I will send pick of my pilots later.

Ok that sounds good on the pilots. Just let me know and I would like to see a good picture of yours. Mike, how would I find out if there are extra wings to just get a replacement? So, would I be better off with a G2 wing if it is stronger at the joint you are referring to? If that's the case and they mount the same and would line up that sounds like a better option. Maybe better to replace both wings just to be on the safe side. At least they would match and both have flap servos on the bottom.

Jason, contact Jose and Cindy at [email protected] and they can help you find out whether the factory has extra set of wings for you. I am sure they have that. Take some pictures of the wings including the wing mounts and spars so they can identify the right type of wing mounts for you. I believe that the G1 and G2 share the same wing mounts, so they are compatible. They can help you track down the spare wings for you in the same paint schemes. Mike

Hi Mike and Blainer48;
The wings look alike but they are internally different in terms of how they are mounted.
The G1 has two attachment points and the G2 has a 1'' inch tube running through the fuse into both wings.
They will not fit the G1 installation.
Sorry about that.
JL are still supplying parts for the G! but at a price difference,
