This thread is from quite a few years ago, my techniques, equipment, and skill has changed in the past years, but the fundamentals are all pretty well the same, it will give you a good starting point though.

I just picked up the Jet Power "Rookie Special" magazine at a local Barnes and Noble book store. It's more like a "Getting Started in Jets" book than a magazine and they have a sixteen page article on painting a jet. Starts on setting up your gun, spraying techniques, paints, masking and then painting.
