Hi guys
Thought I would post a few shots of the new Roo.
A couple of friends have kangaroo?s and I liked the way they flew.
So this is what I did for a little more fun.
No more bumbling with the canopy screw while the turbine is running. Mount the canopy before the start.
ECU plug in, fuel pump shut off valve and start gas adjusts valve all on the outside.
On/off switch and air valve on the other side.
Steering is direct ball-joint ?s to the servo no slop!
And for those windy cross wind days an ACT fuzzy wingo gyro-may save a wing tip.
All up dry weight is 14.5 pounds.
Will let you know how it fly?s.
Johnny

I do not mess with Screws or bolts either when the turbine is running. I hinged the front of the canopy so that it lifts out of the way, and it is spring loaded to stay open. The rear hold down is a fabricated locking pin. It works very well and I still can unbolt it if I need to. The roo has over 250+ flights with no problems.

Today I test hopped the Roo.
In no runway at all she was ready to leave this earth. (Grass)
It took about twice the runway as my dago-red with an OS 91 FS (I take the dago-red off across most runways)
After I got a feel for her I tried a full power climb to see how far she would go before my JDE-54 stopped pushing it.
Well I did not get to find out. The Roo got too small too quick for my safety habits.
After some loops rolls and split-s I dropped the gear and deployed the speed break.
Set up for a landing pull back on the throttle. Talk about slowing down. I had to add throttle to make it to the runway.
I pulled the nose up high the mains touched and she lifted about a foot (thought ran through my head, “Oh no, the Roo hop.”) I pull one more flair. She settled and stopped about 5 ft past me.
This was the kind of first flight I always dreamed of.
Compared to the other planes I fly, this was like a day off with pay.
I have been flying extreme speed for the last 3 years as basic training for this flight.
It paid off.
I have tried to write this as unbiased and honestly as I can without trying to gloat.
I would like to thank everyone who has been a part of this adventure…you know who you are.
Sincerely
Johnny klinner

Johnny,
Great job!!! (Hey, when it's your first turbine flight it's OK to gloat) I looked like a struttin' chicken after my first turbine flight.
I'm looking forward to meeting you and some of the other guys from Alabama at Tennessee Jets--You are going, aren't you???
