Default Thinners for BVM 2 part touch up paint

What is the thinners that can be used with BVM 2 part touch up paint ?

Xylene, Toluene, Cellulose, methanol ?

I will need to thin some down for air spaying a small area.

Thank you.

Have you talked with BVM about this? I know BV uses only PPG paints on his models and I would venture to guess that any reducer from BVM would do the trick.

I have used the small touch-up bottles of painf from BVM too, and this information came with them.
The correct reducer for the BVM touch-up colors is PPG DT 870 for standard shop conditions. PPG makes other reducers for this paint, such as DT860 and DT 885, bur they are for cooler and hotter weather. The reducer speed difference is to keep the reducer from flashing off too fast or too slow in different temperatures. Slower reducer in higher temperatures, faster in colder......DT 870 is for "standard" shop temps. I'm no expert, but that's my .02 worth.

The color you have is PPG "Concept" acrylic urethane enamel. Don't forget to add the correct amount of DCX 61 catalayst.

Google has good sources of information on the PPG product line.
Customer service at BVM is a good source of information as well.

Hope this helps

BVM paint is too thick to go through a airbrush as supplied so I think Spartan is looking to thin it for that reason.

Read my previous post where I gave him the number of the reducer.....PPG DT 870.
Using it, he can make it as thin as he wants.

Thanks, especially Harley for the detailed info.
I'll speak to BVM when I need to spray/ touch up.

Jason, can I borrow your airbrush ?
