Well Simjet has managed to bore the hell out of me. Allow me to explain I have a old Simjet 2250 which had to get sent in after nearly 150 hrs run time
due to a tired RPM sensor. Well as disappointed as I was because I wouldn't have it back for Florida jets I was completely suprised and still overwhelmed when I walked into the SIMJET tent and LARS hands me my turbine not only repaired but .....this is the best part ......It was completely upgraded to the full autostart with new ecu sequencer valves even the cute propane bottle
This was AWESOME!!!!! Simjet has a customer for life. now for the boring part i have set the turbine up to start so i filled the propane bottle up once and have have started the engine up from the transmitter 14 times with some battery charging in between it can get pretty boring just toggling that throttle stick back and forth to start the turbine wondering when i will need to refill the propane. Boy is it going to be nice not having to lug that huge & heavy scuba tank & leafblower. My hats off to Lars, Leif, & John for making this happen.
Thanks

Sure there were quite a few simjets in the air I,E There were 2 L1011 Tristar's by PCM models with the SIMJETS I got to see his new AV8TR with the new 1200 a few bobcat's including that nicely painted one that belongs to Frank Tiano also there was that black prototype funky looking thing with the canards on it that flew great despite its appearence they all had simjets. oh and there was a tiny F-86 I beleive it was a bvm with a 1200 simjet but I don't think that one flew

My friend Don and I got 4 flights each in on Sunday with our Simjet powered Roo's.
Wish the whole weekend was like Sunday, but that's the way it goes sometimes.

Hey John,
Yea, that was a real shame, he flew just after me and I warned him the sun was getting bad, when I turned to the west end of the field my plane just turned black, it was impossible for me to tell top from bottom!...Guess he was using mixing after all, fiberglass and dirt. Good news is the RC gods saw it happen and he won the MIG....At least the weekend wasnt a total loss for george

The tiny F-86 Santonomos mentioned was in fact a BVM with the BVM turbine conversion kit installed. The Simjet 1200 ran up great and seemed to have plenty of power for the F-86. It should fly the F-86 nicely, and hopefully in the next few weeks if we get some decent weather here in Ohio. If anyone has any questions about installing one of the 1200's in the BVM F-86 please feel free to contact me. I can help with placement of some of the engine components, etc. I have moved some things around a few times and I think that I have now found the ideal locations for the ECU, valves, etc. Might save someone some time and I can send pics. if you need them.
Best Regards, Gary Jefferson

Still waiting for someone to report on the 1200 flying,
the reports of all the other simjet engines is very positive
, but no one has stepped up yet with flight reports specificly on the 1200 !
I have a new F-16 that will need a power unit
.

Scott,
The 1200 is STILL waiting on AMA aproval, therefore you will not hear from anyone on the flying peformance of the turbine. Aproval was delayed an extra two weeks from AMA because the people who need to sign the paperwork were on vacation. Expect to hear from 1200 owners within the next few weeks on their performance. This is one jewel of a motor....

I was just wodering how a "turbine engine" had 150 hours before overhaul..........let's see............lets say 15 minutes per flight, so 4 flights per hour, times 150 hours, equals 600 flights.....I'd be hard pressed to find alot of flyers who have had 600 flights total. Are you sure on the hours estimate, if so man you got a great engine. My RAM 750F has to go into the shop after 200 cycles......hmmmnnn, just wondering.
