Just a quick note to wish all you Southern California R/Crs good luck with all the fires...
Michelle and I evacuated today, and her office is damaged by fire. But the house is OK. With 250.000 people evacuated so far, there are probably a few other RCU members on the run.
Stay safe

It is nasty down here in San Diego. Got a few evacuees hanging with me tonite.
Its heading straight from the mountains to the coast, and the winds are really stoking it.
Good to hear from you John, and that you're ok.
Stay safe.

J-C, Thanks.
I have a space for one tommorow if we get evac'd. Right now we are cautiously okay. There are however, as of 10 mins ago 4 freakin fires burning all around us. One N, NE, SE and the closest W, although that one is hopefully going to keep going west thru open land.
If I need to move one of the racers Ill let you know. The other is not movable at this time.
Sin City, if I was single I'd be there right now drink in hand!!.. Make that two hands....

Guys,
I am 60 miles west of Vegas and have lots of land, if anyone needs to bug out and you have an RV I can accomodate. I do have some limited housing space as well. PM me if you need a place to hang.
Good Luck out there!

Couple pics from my backyard this afternoon. Kudos to the bomber drivers, their spotter, and all the ground pounders trying to put this thing out! Terry

Yup, same P2. Here are a few more pics. This drop was right next to Cook's corner. Quite a show. So sorry for all that lost property, livestock, etc. Terry

I live in the Olivenhain/South Carlsbad/NE Encinitas corridor. My family and I were given 'voluntary' evacuation notices starting at 6:30AM Monday...then a 'mandatory' notice (by reverse 911 calls) at 3 PM.
We are safe and staying at a friend's house on a hilltop in Dana Point, about 40 miles North, along with another Encinitas family (it's now a crowded house with 9 people, two cats, and two dogs). So far our homes are OK but still threatened by the Rancho Sante Fe fire about 1 mile away. My buddy is a reserve OC Sheriff and he's been busy working traffic control for the Santiago Canyon fires up here. Pretty much everyone in SD and parts of OC and LA have been significantly affected by the fires. For details and a map of what's going on, see http://signonsandiego.lamphost.net/p..._FirePerem.pdf and http://www.signonsandiego.com/.
Last night we sat on his patio and watched the Camp Pendleton fires develop, eerie sight as the fires climbed over the hillsides and down towards the I-5 (which was/is closed in this area). The Camp P fire has been identified as the "Horno fire"...Horno Pt. is the site where some of the local RC jet guys fly, I'm hoping the fire name is just a coincidence.
Thanks for the concerns/comments, there are a number of other SD area jet guys who have been impacted...my local jet buddy Bags was surrounded at one point (in Poway/Scripps Ranch) but everything is OK for now. We're heading home this AM as soon as the freeway opens up.
Barry
PS - I did not take any models...but DID find room to pack my trusty 10X and new Electra kit and EVF (just in case).
