hi all,
what would happen if i showed up to a major jet event with a nostalgic jet?? would i be shunned away, or be pushed to the back corner, or would you let me fly beside you and remember the old days of when you got started?? is a jet a jet?? no matter what the power plant is?? would you be bothered by the noise and the slow speeds compared to a turbine?? just courious...

Are you talking about a ducted fan? I would imagine that I've seen at least one DF model at most jet events I've been too. EDF's are making more and more appearances too. Its NBD really...

I was at FIJR today and there was a nitro powered ducted fan there amongst all the turbines, and I enjoyed watching the DF. Brings back memories and makes you appreciate what we have today.

If I remember right at Route 66 jets this year a ducted fan f15 got a fair amount of attention,but has some trouble getting it to run good.I wanted to see it fly and I am sure many others did to.

WELL GUYS , JUAN HERE FROM PUERTO RICO . THIS IS A BVM VIPER FIRST GENERATION , THIS ONE IS A COMPLTETE WING , ( THIS IS NOT THE ULTRA VIPER WITH PLUG-IN WINGS ) . THIS LITTLE FELLA HAS A BVM FAN WITH A BVM .96 ON IT . IT ALREADY HAS FIVE FLIGHT WITH ME AND THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD PUT 9 FLIGHTS ON IT. FLIES FAST LANDING ARE SMOOTH PUT COMES IN A LITTLE BIT HOT . STILL WORKING THE BUGS OUT TO PUT THIS BABY FLYING SMOOTHLY . WHEN I BOUGHT THE JET IT CAME WITH 2 BVM .91 ALTHOUGH IT AS A BVM .96 ON THE PLANE , 2 PIPES , A FAN ETC AS SEEN IN THE PICTURE ...... ENJOY !!!

All it takes is one whiff of burning nitro to bring back a flood of good memories of my old ducted fan days....At the last jet rally that I attended a ducted fan fired up and everyone stopped what they were doing to watch it fly......Funny thing is that we used to stop everything to watch the occasional turbine fly when turbines were "new". [8D] As previously stated---A jet is a jet...
