Measured speed compared to visual conception

Thumbing through the May issue of Model Aviation " very quickly I might add " I came across the District V report where at the 14th Rally of Giants meet of the Deland Golden Hawks, Merlyn Graves participated with his Avro-Vulcan.
The caption reads like this.... Have you ever seen a monster flying? Dominating the flight scene, here's a monster. Merlyn graves dropped down from Chicago with his 90-pound Avro. The Avro has a 134-inch span and is 122-inches in length. Ducted fan powered. It flew at nearly "200 MPH". It looked very real.
Now, if this thing is flying at near 200 mph, then my visual conception of speed is way off as viewed when I watched Merlyn fly the Avro at Superman last October. Could it be the Avro is so large that it appears to not be traveling at that speed, or is it that MR. Matt's old slime green "err lime green BVM Bandit" was a 400 mph aircraft.

I was just about to make the same comments that Todd made. McNeil would not know what 200 mph looked like if he was hit in the head with a 200 mph turd!
