RE: Skymaster F14 Tomcat
Anton, good to see some load testing being carried out. Does the 180kg hold true when the wings are attached to the swing wing mechanism rather than the straight through wing tubes you are testing with?
180kg sounds a huge amount. I might be wrong, but with a fully fuelled twin at about 30kg, does that mean we'd be safe to pull a 6g turn but maybe not much more? I've been to hundreds of airshows where full size aircraft pull 7g turns etc and it doesn't "look" bad. As we build bigger and heavier we are bound by the laws of physics to change the way we fly (ie smoother!). Some do. Lots don't.
Perhaps a useful telemetry sensor for modern TXs would be a G meter?!?!
I do fancy a F14 so I hope Likai's usual superb engineering comes good on this model too!

RE: Skymaster F14 Tomcat
Hi,
F14 wings very small compare to the lift of body. Anton estimate total dry weight 21.5kg with 5.5L fuel to 27kg. The wings hold 200kg static load with swing wing. i think this more than enough strength for wing - as the fuselage will also carry some load. The tailplane is tested similar and prototype 2 will have all the production features to test under high g flying...the last step before release...

Nice to see some weight testing being done 180-200Kg does not seem a huge amount to me. With my Arado 555 it was weight tested and loaded with 140 Kg of weight in an agreed pattern of loading. Mine being a bomber is not stressed as much as a fighter when it does loops and rolls. 6-7 G is a reasonable design criteria for a fighter.
Also it is good to hear realistic estimates of the weight, though with 5 litres it will not be in the air for long as it is stated to be for up to 2 P160 size. I guess 10 litres would be more realistic. This would push the wet weight up to over 30 Kg.

Guys,
Don't forget the lifting capability of the fuse on the F-14... I'd have to look it up, but a number of 30% comes to my mind. So 30% of the lift is generated from the fuse. So, given that a production plane, loaded out with twin P-140's, lots of fuel and goodies would weigh about 30 kg, that will leave 20 kg to be lifted by the wings, or amount to 10G if tested to 200kg.....
these are big, heavy planes, and yes, you won't yank them around the sky like a little pylon racer....... the FS Tomcat was limited to 6.5G by the navy (mostly for logevity of the airframe) although Grumman certified it higher... Hell, 'Hoser' pulled 12.2G's on one in ACM without rivets popping out....and that particular turkey flew till normal retirement..........but then again, they were built by 'the Iron works'.........It should be able to perform aerobatics, but with respect to it's 'momentum'....

Hi, all
Thank you for your commented. this was a prototype wings after the test flight, we took out it for tested the load broken that we can see how to Structural failed, we will redesign and product a new wings for F14, and will test it again soon,

So many guys have spent their money in this hobby based off dollars and not sense.
I look forward to my next Skymaster jet thanks to your hard work Anton. Thanks for not being a sellout and continuing on with making products the right way vs cheap and disposable!
Thanks for adequately testing your products and going the extra mile to give us quality products.
Choosing to go this route must have been challenging seeing your competition pump out models weekly but you will benefit in the end.
I've seen the new 104 up close and its a beauty. Your best work yet.
It or the F14 will be my next choice.

Hi all
today we tested the new wings for F14, 240kg loaded no problem, but the 16mm carbon tube is brakon.,[] i am very happy with the new wings..

Hi, Alex
the F-14 almost finish, we had designed the new Removable elevators with fins for easy transport, please wait a few days that we will update our web site for the F14 details with prices.,
Best Regards

EXCELLENT !! thank you for doing your due diligence on the design and TESTING before the product is finalized for the customers! this is how it should be done by everyone.

RE: Skymaster F14 Tomcat
Hello Anton, just wondering something. I always see test with just the wings, is the stress test also done with the wings on the jet as well?
Just curious for personal know how, im guess they are but I have only ever seen photos of wings being tested like the ones above. Cheers!

Shouldn't the load be tested through a fuse instead of on a stool? The true pressure points are not at the center as tested. Correct me if I am wrong.

Awesome work, awesome plane! Anton, very well done. I´m impressed and i want one
Nice to see that the internal structure of the wings is strong enought.
But, does the wing joint itself and the frame in the fuselage also resist that force in the forward and back position? Will you test again with the wings assembled?

Can't wait to see these in the air tried and tested (doing full high g maneuvers and with wings swept). Once we have more flying successfully, it will def. be on my short list. I don't want to be the virtual testing agency for it as I don't believe it's been flying long enough to sell yet.
