RE: SUPER REAPER BUILD
Did you reinforce the wing where the retract cutouts are? Or is the box structure sufficient....
also, I see knee action struts there ...very nice, but it looks like you have the right hand gear on the left wing

RE: SUPER REAPER BUILD
THE BOX FOR THE WING CUTOUT IS ALL PLY, I FEEL THIS SHOULD BE STRONG ENOUGH. THE RETRACES ARE NOT STREWED IN. I WAS TRYING TO SHOW OFF MY RIMS AND BRAKES THEY ARE ALL SHINNY LIKE MIRROR.

RE: SUPER REAPER BUILD
Here are the latest photos. I have the bottom glued in place and I'm reinforcing the strut mounts. I added a sheet of ply on the front and a 1/4" on the landing gear bolt area. Next I'm going to epoxy fiberglass mat to this area. I'm hoping this will be strong enough.

RE: SUPER REAPER BUILD
I installed the engine mount. The rails is another area that will be reinforced. I will use 1 1/2 oz. fiberglass cloth with epoxy. The hatches are next. I glue the front first mounted on the jet as shown in the photo. The hatches are clear at this time so it makes it easy to cut and make them perfect. I will cut but not glue the hatch until it has been painted. The rear hatch front formers hole needed to be filled as the hole is in the wrong spot. So I used the plug that was in the hole originally. After this dries I will re drill to proper location.

I have the center hatch finished and glued. The rear stabs are being installed. I had to brake free the rear cross member as it should be installed at the same time as the stabs. Here are the latest pictures.

When cutting the canopy's cut the ends out. Place on top and mark with tape. Cut out around the tape. Paint before glue

RE: SUPER REAPER BUILD
I have all covered with 1/2 oz cloth and on the canards I used 1 1/2oz cloth for strength . I painted all the hatches using the paint for plastic car body's. This is a water base paint you paint inside. I then attached the hatches to there wood reinforcements. Next I will prime using a sprayable polyester primer. This is a high build primer that is like a thin coat of bondo.
I will sand with a large sanding block to make this straight.

I'm going with a Titan or Rhino not sure yet.

Your kidding right ? ? ? ? ? ?
From the Mick Reeves website, the Super Reaper is: Weight, ready to fly, less fuel . 16 lbs. [7 kg]. Engine 10 lbs and up thrust. MW54, KJ66. etc.
So that would be something like this . . . . The MW44 Gold with 44N (10lbs) thrust. The MW54 has 64N (14lbs) The SuperSport has 81N (18 lbs) of thrust.
But you are going with A Titan or Rhino [X(]
I am willing to offer you, right now $300 for the to by the turbine right now "before" you go any further, because once you open the taps on the turbine, you can probablt kiss it, the model and all your flight gear good bye in a smoking hole. What do you think ? Deal or not . . . .LOL
Dave
BTW. This offers only valid before the first flight . . . . . . .

RE: SUPER REAPER BUILD
I have to agree with a previous post, the retracts are great! But I think that you put the right wheel assembly on the left rectract assembly. When the gear is retracted you should have the rim exposed, and not the hub. I hope that makes sense. Looking forward to the paint!

RE: SUPER REAPER BUILD
Nice build . My Reaper doesn't fly well in a crosswind . My Reaper will flip over or swap ends in a heavy wind . I am going to try gyros on the Ailerons and Rudder . Have you had this problem ? My Reaper has the fixed gear but after seeing your post I am considering retracts . Yours look like Jet 1-As . Have you flown yours yet ? I would like to know how the pins in your struts hold up .

RE: SUPER REAPER BUILD
I fly my Reaper with a 28 lb thrust trubine . It flys fine . If I had a Titan to put in it I would . I fly the Reaper at about half thrust normally but could use more thrust for verticals .

RE: SUPER REAPER BUILD
Having had both, I wouldn't waste a Titan on such a draggy airframe. The early ones had problems with both the fins and the canards fluttering. I see the fin base has been reinforced, the the canards look the same...
