That is definatly a different paint scheme. Almost doesn't look real. Would be a good scheme visually!

I'm sure I've seen that scheme somewhere before.
I think it was 70 years ago !

Yep, that is one unique jet! The 111th (Ace in the Hole sqdn) is part of the 147FW, an Air National Guard outfit headquartered at Ellington Field Joint Reserve Base, near the Johnson Space Center - both south of Houston. I'm thinking a call to the wing's public affairs office (281-929-2481 ) should get you hooked up with at least something or headed in the right direction. I got some pics of this bird at the houston air show. I will try to post them later. Its the 90th aniversary for them. Sad thing is next year they are going to put them in the in the bone yard and get UAV's not sure what one.

Historical fact?
I think that President George W. Bush was a member of the 147FW when he was an F-102 ANG pilot.

Why do I keep coming back to look at this plane? This paint scheme is growing on me. It would be a fun one to paint.

Let's see.......I have some light blue paint, some yellow, a valid credit card and Tam's number......Hmmm.......It is officially "Christmas Season" you know..............................[8D]

I like it and it should be easy to see.

I live less than 5 miles from Ellington and have NEVER seen that scheme...though I would have liked to have. Not that I don't think it exists - it looks like it does, but I feel like I've missed something being so close.

Any contacts over there? I could get plenty of high quality "documentation".

I don´t know... the wings and fuselage doesn´t look bad at all, but that markings on the rudder looks to me like a 1970´s ugly r/c model.

Got to agree with ya Billy. Good looking scheme especially for the small F16s that need all the vis help they can get.
