Seen that photo before, it is definately a real Blue Angel, and the best of my knowledge it is an actual photo, and the plane really got that low.

The reason he got that low is that he is probably taking off. Usually one solo will do a dirty roll on takeoff with the gear down. The other solo retracts the gear and stays a few feet off the ground building up speed for a maximum climbout.

Either way he had to be really moving because to create those Vapors on such a clear day would take some serious heating of the Air.

Also look carefully at the wing and see the Flex it's a bunch of Gs.

PS: It's actually cooling the air in the low pressure area. Think of it as sucking the moisture out of the air.

I took this at the Pensacola End Of Season Airshow... I couldn't get the end of the vid where he yanks it vertical but I did get the first of the takeoff..
