Go to Lowes or your local home improvement center. Get the 1/4" "cheap" ply, 1" X 2" pine strips and wood screws that they sell, and fabricate shipping crates. They will even cut the ply to your demensions for 10 to 25 cents per cut.
Cover your models with plastic, then use a little foam rubber (very expensive) and many spray cans of foam insulation (cheap) to isolate your airplane parts.
I built two crates that held 2 each .40 size and 2 each .60 size airplanes for about $40 total in wood and about $35 in foam.

Hi Mike,
Glad to hear you're coming to Europe - will you be here for the Helchteren Jet Meet in July (super jet meet that takes place in Belgium, not too far from the German border)? If you want to bring your wife over here for the January 03 Sales in London, you can leave her there with your credit card whilst you come to my Winter Jet Meet at Abingdon, scheduled for 28th December!!!!
Cheers,

Dick,
Thanks for the welcome. I was with NATO AWACS 95-98 and loved living in Europe. I attended the Helchteren Jet Meet several times. I'm look forward to meeting you in person. Still flying the 104?

Hi Mike,
I also did Helchteren in 95, 96 and 97, so we will have been in close proximity! I also visited the BX at Geilenkirchen to top up on Bacardi, beer etc whilst I was touring about over there - presumably that's where you were with the AWACs? Where are you going this time?
Yes, my F-104's going well with its RAM 1000...in fact, I just ran the engine today for the first time in a while as I've had everyting out to overhaul the landing gear and fit a door system (had the 'holes'up until now!). With any luck, I should be flying it again this week or next.
Keep in touch,
Cheers,
Dick
