Paypal
HI all, I did not know that any one can put a request for payment, right in your paypal account.
It all started when a Power box went up for sale in classifieds, I put a offer in and requested a pic of the item for sale.
A week passes and no pic and no acceptance of my offer, the seller was dealing with some one else and eventually it fell through, so the seller rejects my offer on RCU and the next day accepts it through Paypal and no RCU.
I guess he uses RCU to get the ball rolling, he never has to get rated.
Am I over cautious or am I dealing with a very aggressive seller.

RE: Paypal
Pete,
I would make them accept your offer through RCU. Otherwise, it MAY not even be the same person, or it MAY be a scam completely.
Have them accept the offer through RCU FIRST!!

Sounds fishy to me.
Be very careful. Never ever click on an email containing a link to paypal, ebay, etc... Instead, go to the site by typing the URL or using your bookmark and login.
If you did follow a link from your mail, change your password immediately.

Actually, it's probably too late if you take a link from a spoof. By then, they are probably tracking every keystroke. If you make this blunder, best to format and start over.

RE: Paypal
Presuming the deal goes through O.K. with no evidence of a spoof, then for the future, if you do not have a PayPal Security key, get one to add another layer of password security.....
If it turns out to be a spoofer, then Sean's recommendation is right on....
