ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL WILLOW RUN!!!
Well another great day of flying at the willow. I think it is only appropriate to start off the thread with this pic:
Oh who's truck is that?? Could it be he was driving around all night with that on???

I dont know Todd, but he buzzed us twice and then came down the runway with smoke on!!! He initially approached from the South and then departed to the East.

Nice!!!
So what was the deal with the colored smoke. What was the mess about...all over the plane, the ground, the truck? Staining the smoke tank???
Enlighten me, as I think the tri-colored smoke would be great for the upcoming "Hawksters".
Glad to see you all had a great time out there. Did Kenny F. show his face out there at all?

Uncle Joe, I believe that truck belonged to the one and only Smokin Joe Mcbride!!!!
Paul, the colored smoke worked out great but was a little messy. I will let Dougy E Fresh fill you in with the "exciting" details he had playing with smoke this weekend!!!

Paul,
The red smoke shows up extremely well! It does get EVERYWHERE, but it also comes off really easily with brake cleaner or equivalent. Presta filled me up after Duky got frustrated with his "broken" smoke system. A little rich for my blood ($200/5gal for red, $500/5gal for blue!), but if someone's gonna put it in my bird, I'll give it a whirl![8D]

Alright, you got me Ian...I actually just ran out and checked in the driveway thinking my neighbors were all seeing your handiwork. Now I realize it was your photoshop mastery...but for a second there!!!!!!!!!!

I believe that's one of the stickers I originally got for CA jets, along with the one that Uncle Joe photographed on the passenger door of Dave Presta's car.

Yeah, sorry Joe, the bumper sticker was very real, I just peeled it off after I took the pick and gave it back to Ducky. Apparently you were driving around beautiful Buttonwillow with it so I think your safe on the home front;-)

So we got until he gets the very last drop of that stuff outta his B-Rang to find him someone else to complain about. All kidding aside, it wouldn't be the same without the "Freshness".
Another great time at the Willow with the usual gang of good buddy's flying like it was the last supper....and we ate like it too, thanks for Q'in Billy Boy. Congrats to Tom for earning his waiver on a JetLegend F-18, I know those things fly well but its a heck of a first jet and he flew it like a champ all day (hooked to the McBlanket).
It was great to see David Searles again, we been missin' him on the last few trips, and as alway's a key element to our fun time. Scotty greasing the the hell out of his Mig-15 landings ALL DAY LONG. The Sauzeech showing the hospitality that only he can provide with the place to stay, generator power, laughs, and some free boxing lessons at the local bar.
Smoking Joe McBride working harder then any other person at a gathering with his non stop JR support...also has never said no to anyone needing buddy box time, no matter how booked he is with others..not to mention his own toys to fly/maintain. I think it was around noon on Saturday that someone came up with a "McSchedule" and kept him booked solid all day.....I was honored with the task of being his "McAssistant"..........but they called me "McAss" for short....not sure why
Gordon is a great wingman in the air, but dont expect him to stay on your wing while driving 3 hours in your crap heap that takes a few minutes longer to climb a hill.....It was exactly one kilometer (thats six tenths of a mile to you uneducated) past our starting point that his patience wore out and he blew by me and continued on. He had like 4 flights in already by the time I got there.
Kinda hard to pin down all the highlights when you hang out with such a good group of pilots, flying next to Duky and Smokin' Joe with my T-33 is always something that I look forward to withe every trip, and have always taxi'd back thinking that it just don't get much better then this.
King Raffi, fantastic to see you out with us again flying your ***** off....good to have you back.
Thanks to everyone who showed up to make it another great time, and to those of you who couldn't get your genitals away from your wives long enough to come burn some man juice......well.........better you then me.
Later,
Presta

Great times as usual. Memorable moments include:
Duky's look of disgust (sorry bro).
Mark's unexpected sprinter speed.
Skippy's Firedrill.
GSR layin down the butter.
The "new guys" tearing it up (yeah that's you Raf and Ian!).
Lou's Chippy and his endless smile.
Joey C's Panther and his endless smile...do these Italian guys know something we don't?
Tradin' paint with Diamond Dave and Doug "Mr Plaque" Anderson.
Billy's new skid plates...worth every cent!
Gordon's girlfriend Megan.

RE: ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL WILLOW RUN!!!
Total great time again. I thought the BS hour in the motel room was needed. Nothing like talk'n football and planes all while watching " Bear" eat some goat ball$. Hanging with the fellas is pure therapy for a long work week.
