Default JetLegend F-15 strut issue

Just wondering if anyone has issues with their struts? When I maidened the plane a month ago, I noticed after the second flight that the lower half of the struts were bent. The resson was that they tried to compress into the upper half but jammed and then the lower took all the force of the landing. I had gotten another set of lowers and flew the plane this past weekend. After the first flight I noticed that one of the struts had compressed into the upper but wouldn't come out until you pulled it out. These struts are a bit more scale than other F-15 struts and I think that is the problem. Since the wheel touches the ground at 90 degrees and the strut is angled in a few degrees, their is a lot of side force as the lower tries to compress into the upper and it jams even if the landing is perfect. There is enough grease in there so I'm not sure what to do. Maybe the inside of the upper needs to be honed smoother? Anyone else have this issue with these? Thanks.

I have fitted Jet Legend struts to my Avonds F15 & have no issues with them after around 100 flights despite a few hard landings. Due to the design of the strut, the sliding grooves the inner strut moves up & down in does not wear.
Good luck if you try to contact them. I had no luck getting any response re another gear issue,

Hi
I have also an JL F-15 and I have also the problems that you describes Marty. I fly mine from a grass field and I think the solution is to change te oleos to something like the Jet 1A oleos or the new Eurokit ergal oleos.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by this?

Grippen gear from robart cured my problem. Todd @ dreamworks sent me a set, and in reality, I used just regular robart oleo's and they worked just fine. I know they're not scale...[8D]

Marty. In a normal strut the inner part moves up & down & is prevented from rotating, by usually an allen screw in a groove. This steel allen screw over time wears the aluminium groove making it wider. It causes a rotational force of the inner part of the strut against the outer part so making a sloppy strut.
The Jet Legend strut has a steel pin that goes from one side of the strut to the other, so doubling the anti rotational effect & reducing the wear .
