X-Treme Jets F-15 kit Build.
I just got my F-15 a few days ago.
Since there are limited pics and info on the x-treme jets site, ill share some pics of what you get
Shipping with DHL only took 4 days, which is vey nice. took about a week in total from when i ordered, paid by paybal, and until it was on my doorstep.
I have taken a heap of pics so far, and the build is pretty strait forward......if you have built a few planes in the past at least [8D]

Sonnich
If you haven't already glued in the main landing gear plywood mounts I would laminate them with some 3mm carbon or epoxy plate. This was a weak point in previous Skymaster kits and will break in a heavy landing.
Build looks good so far!
Best regards
John

Thanks John.
They are glued in, but they do have a re-inforcement wooden beam glued onto the mounts if you look closly on the last picture.
Ill figure something out later........or just land it nice

Thanks , but I did goof up a bit on the intakes.
I made the mistake of glueing them in seperatly, which caused the ducts not to meet each other at the turbine.......but Im not going to use a bypass anyway, so it does not realy matter.
Should have clamped or taped them together at the end prior to glueing them in.

SJN,
The BARF has this same ducting problem. I used thick CA on one side with a bit of kicker on a corner, just enough to tack it in place. Then placed the second intake with thick CA and then went nuts with the kicker.
I know you got the kick, but an ARF should not need ducting glued in. [>:]
Nice job with the build!

I striped out the threads when i was tightnig down the retainer that clamps the carbon wing spar.
Instead of cutting a new thread in the alu retainer, i installed a nut on the bolt, and made a hole in the bottom of the fuselage to get at the nut when tightening.

First time trying to use the ofset hinges on the gear doors......This time i suck at it, but will hopefully be better on my next project.
Also set up the tailerns/elevons.
50mm ( 2" ) elevator, and 30mm ( 1.2" ) aileron
Are you guys flying with these throws ?
Also, is neutral at the mold line at the rear of the taileron/elevon ?
