Fuel tank leak
My JL F-15 has developed a leak in the main tank(what a pain getting that out). It is leaking at the glue joint where the tank halves are joined. What is the best stuff to use to seal up the leak? Hysol, Epoxy? I'm using a 7.2 volt battery on the pump BTW. Thanks.

That will work, or same thing with epoxy resin. If you don't have west systems or equal, you can use 20 minute finishing resin, but literally wait two days after you use the 20 minute before you fill the tank. I have never understood why, but that 20 minute stuff takes two days to set up properly when used to set up fiberglass.

Basically the thinner the better, but 30 minute would be fine. Just make sure you clean the area with alcohol before you do the cloth and resin. I would use a patch of 6 ounce probably to make sure you are good and covered. Although 2 ounce would probably get the job done, but I would not go less than that.

RE: Fuel tank leak
Thanks guys. That tank has gotta be the hardest thing to get to in the entire jet once it's assembled. I don't want to have to go through this again although something is telling me it won't be the last time.[:@].

the CA is IME the best choice, it's faster, has the best penetration and holds up to fuel better then epoxy does, just make sure you do it in good ventilation
