Exciting news from Jet Cat
I just received through today the details of the new Jet Cat P-60 SE and the new warranty and servicing plans.
P-60SE is pretty self explanatory really. But I for one cant wait to try one with the even quicker spool up times
The Warranty and servicing announcement is a big step forward.
As of immediate effect all turbines purchased after the 1/09/2007 will be entitled to Jet Cats new 36 month warranty. I have a PDF file with the full details if anyone wants.
At the same time Cat have also introduced a servicing programme where when you buy a turbine you can within 30 days buy a service voucher for 200 Euro ( Not sure how this will work in the USA) this voucher is valid for 48 Months and will cover the costs of one 25 hour service.
Cool!
Regards Al

RE: Exciting news from Jet Cat
I have shot an email to cat to confirm for sure but I am pretty sure no power hike, and pretty sure old turbines will be upgradable.
As soon as I have it for sure from cat I will pass it on.

36 month warranty sounds good but can someone explain this voucher system for me?
How much is the service normally? Why do you have to mess about with vouchers? Why don't they just have a cheaper first service?
Buying a voucher is effectively giving Cat a free loan as far as I can see it. Can you get a refund on the voucher (e.g. if you destroy the turbine or don't fly 25 hrs in 4 years)?

RE: Exciting news from Jet Cat
Mr. Matt has been test flying a P-60SE of sorts in his Stinger and the engine is brilliant. Spool up time is great and has a typical SE speed to it. Now get to work on the 70SE JETCAT!!!!!

I'm sure there are improvements on the way for all JetCat turbines. i just recently got my P-70 serviced and the upgrade to ECU V 6.0f greatly improved the spool up time, it also has an option in the menu now for a faster spool up and down responce.

From what I have been told 70SE will never be and probably not an 80 eather. It the design of the 70 can not support what is needed to "SEise" it. Ian is correct, Matt has been flying a prototype 60SE for about a year now-The thing spools up and down like an electric motor. Scott

before i sent it in it had V5 something and the spool up time from idle to 123000 was 6 seconds, it's now 3.5 with the ECU set to 'FAST' on the throttle response. i know you can get just the ECU upgraded, seams it's about 25 bucks when i checked about it several yrs ago on an older turbine i was going to buy at the time.
also the spool down time has shortened very noticeably, took me several runs to get past the idea that it just went into shut down it drops off RPM so quickly, sounds just like it flamed out.

RE: Exciting news from Jet Cat
Just had official word from Jet Cat and no power increase. Selling price is going to be held the same and yes it is possible to upgrade original spec P-60's to SE Spec. The cost is 220 euro plus tax ( and shipping I guess)
Carsten, I would send an email to cat if I were you, to check that one. I am speaking to them daily at the moment. I could check if you want to PM me the turbine numbers.
I am still selling the Graupner turbines, as well as taking care of servicing, but thanks to an offer from Jet Cat I will be flying/ sponsored by the, in 2008. This also coincides with Al's Hobbies being made a UK Official dealer, and being in a much better position to support Jet Cat sales/ servicing.
