Default Afterburner effect tested! Video!

Hi guys -
I have just installed the Dreamworks afterburner ring, and although the effect is very cool,
I wanted it to look even more like a real afterburner, so I invented a system that gave the
effect that I was looking for - what do you think?

PS: The pictures have not been Photoshopped!!

Thanks, guys -
No, not dumping fuel - that would be dangerous!

That sure looks an awful lot like steam to me! Are you pumping water through the smoke system and getting a glare off the steam from the lights?

I'm hoping (and assuming) that it will be sleeker and possibly more AB-shaped when I'm flying,
but it does look quite good already and is clearly visible in broad daylight!

Was just wondering if my jetcat 180 would be a good choice for the big SM f16??. I have this baby sitting around and needs a home. There are not to many choices for this turbine . sorry for putting in wrong heading

That's awesome, I came up with that idea a couple of years ago, but I didn't have the technology to make it happen, so I just let it go. It is so nice to see it work, congratulations! My idea was straight out the smoke pipes which is why I asked, it never occurred to me to put it at the back of the airplane. That's even better!

...and if you turn off the lights, you can make your own vapor trail....................

on a more practical note: how long will a litre or two of water last ???

Thanks guys!
I have another idea that's been lying around for a while which would produce another effect
that would be equally cool!
A bit more engineering, but I'll get there!

This little trick is going to let who ever uses it on their jet at "Top Gun" on some other scale event some big points setting them up to win!

Great idea.

Nice job and great effect. You should keep the details to yourself and make a product out of it. Looks excellent!

Sure, the Jetcat 180 would be great for the big F-16 - I fly mine with the GBooster 160, and it is just the right size turbine for this plane!

I'm working on a similar A/B technique. I will post results when I'm done.

Very cool.If you could produce a vapor trail that might replace a smoke system.
