Ok mods please tell me........
If lets say in a thread someone asks where they can get a so and so doohicky, and someone says "hey look there is a so and so doohicky right here in the rcuniverse classified " and they link to it.....it's against the rules???
And if so, who was the genius that thought up the brilliant rule?

That's crazy, it's perfectly legit to put this link: http://www.rockingchairs.com/outdoor...kerblanket.cfm
But not this link: http://www.rcuniverse.com/market/item.cfm?itemid=354680 ??
Doesn't sound right to me, but I'm just a dummy.......

If you are linking to your own ad then it would be questionable. In that case I would PM the guy instead of posting it where it would appear to be an ad for your own ad... if you know what I mean.
You could always say "look in the classifieds".

You could always say "look in the classifieds".

someone was interested in a product and was asking about it....I had one in the classifieds
i dont see the problem
It's strange that a site discourages linking to other parts of its own site
Might as well get rid of the classifieds since there seems to be so much trouble with it right?

You mean if like someone was say looking for an F-15 RTF and someone else said "hey" I'm selling one right here http://www.rcuniverse.com/market/item.cfm?itemId=352167 , they have a problem with that? If it's a personal ad, I don't see a problem. When the prosellers are continuosly pushing their products in threads, they don't get deleted. Oh, wait, they pay RCU for Proseller status don't they?

I was just told in email by a mod, (one I have never heard of before) that he deleted a link of mine for this reason

I do not know anything about this incident but you can direct your questions or concerns to users RCAdmin or Nathan to get adequate explanations.
Closing this one and Happy New Year
