Default k/b perry pumped engine?

hey guys is this a good engine? it has the perry pump and a perry carb. the carb is on the front facing the fan. engine has never been run. the piston looks NEW and the fan unit hasnt been run as far as i can tell. just sanded a little to fit in the a4. and yes i got my a4 today. and its my b-day. what a present. i just would like to know some info on this engine and carb setup. still thinking about installing it in my a4. but i might sell the fan engine and the new macs pipe to fund another os 91 and a dynamax or ramtek fan unit. thanks in advance for any help. doug
the engine has the serial #j0004269 and its a 7.5.

Doug, I ran the 7.5 for years. The perry pump never worked as far as I could tell. I took the perry carb off and installed a OS 7d carb on mine to make it work better. When it worked correctly it was marginal at best. Sell it and get the OS 91. Mike Haddox

I would take that engine and stick it on a Diamond Dust. It doesn't have the power or reliability of the more modern K&B or OS engines. There is a K&B .48 combination for sale now here on RCU. Even the rear carb 7.5 would be a much better choice. You could go for the .91 if you don't mind dealing with the extra weight and fuel consumption.
