RE: Ziroli F9F Panther - new thread!
Darn work has really slowed me down, I was hoping to have it ready for Warbirds over the Rockies, but no luck. I do have a question for all of you. I want to install the canopy deck hold down, but I do not like the original Ziroli method (screw & blind nut). Has any one used a different method (Hatch latch)? I like the hatch latch but I am afraid it will get blown offin flight.
Anyone have a different method they are willing to share?
Thanks!

Hi Robert,
I bought mine from a shop in Denmark...but as a matter of fact, you can get those cylinders from all well- assorted R/C Hobby shops!
Mine are relatively long, because they replaced two air up /spring down cylinders used for airbrakes on a HotSpot. They didn´t work satisfactory so I replaced them with two air in/air out cylinders..... The size is determined by where you locate them...

Hi Phil,
Here is the scheme I have chosen, in spite of the numerous Panthers in the same colours. It´s highly visible in the sky and looks good .......I think!

Do you have the full article from the scale aviation mag, I have been trying to get a back copy but it is not available anymore.

Hi Robert,
merry christmas to all. Yes I can quite ahead the past month. I nearly finished the raw building and the retracts. For those I used a set from KMP from the USA which was for the Tigercat. The pneumatic fit the Panther, but the legs had to be shortened and adjusted. Here are the latest pics.
For the wheel doors I didn't use aluminum, thats magnesium.

What a great thread.
Love the Panther, great looking plane. I was wondering if this would be a good first turbine? I know there are several trainers available, however having a scale trainer is what I am looking at.
Looks like it would be a nice flying, stable airframe for a beginner. Comments regarding this are appreciated.

Hi Craig,
Glad you like the thread! Actually this Panther was intended to be my first jet....but I underestimated the time it took to finish the model.....so quite some ARFs found their way into my workshop.
The Panther is a very stable and very good flying model, which you will love....
Came back from a large jet meeting yesterday...and no more than 3 Panthers of different types plus a cougar were present...and they all flewextremely well.
