Hello Nicolas,
Do you have any photos of your complete setup?
Can't wait for your flight reports

Here are the long awaited photos of the turbine conversion.... I am VERY VERY happy with the outcome !

The fuselage is now rock solid with the new bulkheads in much better plywood and better construction, everything fits like a glove as well...
The original short wing spars are replaced with a CF 16 mm OD tube (in front) and a CF 10mm OD rod (in rear) as well. Great combination.

Hopefully we have good weather this weekend !

Gas tank, electronic retract valve and nose wheel steering servo are under the removable tray.
The tray is held with four M3 hex bolts.

Next to the Futaba FASST receiver with short aerials is the RX battery monitor (VoltSpy MC from Graupner).

Fuel tank is 2000 ml (approx 68 oz) - Digitech UAT is 125 ml (approx 4 oz) ; this should be good for about 10 minutes flights with the SimJet 1200.

The main fuel tank is held in place by the neck by means of a 10mm wide velcro strap which runs through the foreseen openings in the bulkheads. Totally hassle free to take it out !

Perfect fit of the Jet 1A trailing link struts plus the retracts, operated with a double Digitech electronic valve.
- PS : no problem in combination with my Futaba FASST receiver -

You can see the main wing tube passing through the wheel bay.

Graupner Voltspy.

RX battery pack is a 5 cells 1700 MAh Sanyo SCR NiCad, installed in the nose accessible through the nose hatch.

The ECU battery is a 3S-2150 MAh Lipo, on top of the fuel tank with velcro straps.

Great job !!

yes we are
infact all the drawings will be in Coreldraw - Autocad - and as a PDF file
thanks to Spiderjet for himn doing a lot of work
all measurements are taken from our parts Airtanks - Fueltank
i will try to make it today
will upload them asap.

so lets all make a fine turbine jet out of a 249 usd trainer.
make us proud!.
show us the Build and flight reports

BTW:
ready made turbine conversions will be also up for sale.
these will include Fuel tank incl all hardware
Fueltank is 2000ml / 68 ounces
is made of very thick PE and will outperform any Sulivan or Kevlar tank.
output will be a festo to 6mm to direct connection to a UAT
all Formers CNC cut by Spiderjets
and more stuff i can think of.
i am looking for wingtubes BUT to ship them in 1 meter of length to the USA is a nightmare.
so best is if someone would sort the tubings out
maybe the chinese will pick this up and make a ready to sell Turbine trainer

like Formost 190 TC ..

Nicolas / Sandor,
Quick Question, I have always seen CF spars run through some sort of sleeve tube. Has this been done just to provide a guide or does it add strength to the spar as it provides radial containment?

Is the spar going to be removable or is it fixed?

Thanks from FL Jets

No other real function than guiding the wing tubes (which are removable).

Just jealous not to be at FL Jets with all of you.... perhaps next time !!!

Good tip : take the wood set from Digitech.

For about the price of a Sullivan tank you get the wood artwork as well (and the round tank !). The wood parts are CNC milled with a 1.2mm diameter router bit with a precision of 0.02 mm accuracy. The CAD drawings were made for those who wish to mill with a router bit up to 1.8mm. Use high quality birch plywood thickness 3.4mm and 5 mm respectively.

For the price that Sandor is only asking for it it isn't worth it spending hours on trying to match it more or less by hand, plus making a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation... (see his website) [8D]

Just my realistic 2 cents...

Nicolas.

I notice the wood parts and fuel tank on the Digi Tech site are for the Formost 160 and 190. What is the diference between these aircraft and will the parts fit in the 150.

Thanks
