Hi,
This should have been in another forum really so I apologise for posting it here but you guys always answer so quickly!!!
I live and fly in the UK but am coming over to the US for a holiday in May.
I was about to order a new Futaba WC2 here in the UK but noticed how much cheaper they are in the US and am now planning on buying one there!
My question is, Can I bring a US purchased WC" to the UK, plug a 35Mhz RF module in it and fly without any problems?
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,
I done the same for my dad, I bought him a WC2 while I was in America in November....
Yes you can just plug in the 35mhz module in and go fly......I went to Graves RC in Orlando Florida who took away the 72Mhz module and charger and it was cheaper still.

Hi Folks
Sorry Dave I understand you have to make a living and speaking as someone who visits the states twice a year some of the prices in the magazines make me weep. I have not bought anything major in the states yet but may do so soon. But when the prices are substancially lower(20% plus) than they are here it does make one wonder and I cant blame anyone for increasing thier buying power.
I will await the barage.

I just took the easy way out. I moved here; but guess what, I am still broke as I am buying a lot more; if I only had more sense. Whats more important, more sense or more fun?

Just about everyone knows that the states are cheaper than most European countries.
While youre there pick up a few tanks of petrol, a few acres of land etc etc etc.
Ripmax aren't to blame for the prices, I don't sell Futaba but comparing prices and knowing what genuine imports cost with duty and shipping I think they are doing a good job. 250+ millon Americans buying power against 57+ million no contest.
If you don't support the importer then they will one by one disapear and you can all go to America or alike for your bits.
If it goes wrong your stuffed
We could argue this one for ever-either way some people will by abroad and some won't

Hi Folks
As I am not in the trade I cannot comment on whether the importers do a good job or not.
I guess it breaks down into the support your local model shop arguement. Support it or lose it and all the other non charged for services that go with it.
But if it is a case of having or not having I know what i would choose.
