Default Bandit ARF /P-70 FOD screen????

Hi Guys , Just wondering if anyone is using an FOD screen on the Bandit ARF/p70 and if so which one. The Tamjets one I have has a large plastic ring at the base that fits around the turbine, the problem is that it blocks almost all of the air gap between the turbine and bypass, leaving hardly any airflow around the turbine. I guess I could just run without one if I have to , any ideas, Thanks Jack.

You do not need one with the bypass. You are also restricting airflow and if you haven't noticed already, your performance is a LOT slower.

Jack,
A friend of mine had terrible problems trying to use a FOD screen on his bandit.
As you already figured out the outer ring block all of the air going around the motor.
I say NO to the FOD screen. Motors & Rotors in the UK has a really nice FOD screen.
The moulded lip slides over the motor case and there is not a flange.
Not sure he has these for the P-70

Guys are using Tam's P-60 sized fod screens on the P-70. The ring is flush but I would worry a little about more restricted air flow to the turbine, may not be a problem though.

You cannot use the P-70 size screen as Bob mentioned but Tam's P-60 screen will work fine because the diameter is smaller than the turbine and it will still allow plenty of air flow. I flew around fifty flights with the P-60 FOD screen in my Bandit ARF with the P-70. Flight temperatures were always normal which meant it was getting plenty of air I guess...Gary

Correct...P-60 screen is what is needed for the Bandit ARF. I would not run an engine without a screen, quite a risk!

as stated the P-60 FOD screen works great on the P-70 but you do have to do a bit of customization on it to fit. you have to trim the screen to accommodate the two Festo fittings on the turbine as well as make two very small clearance groves for the starter post. I've used it on both my A-4s and it works great with no restrictions to the air flow.

Thanks for the pictures, it looks like an easy solution with the P-60 screen. Thanks again, jack.
