You might wanna do a search of the OS91/Viojett combo cause the OS 91 has been known to be fried from the rpm's that fan puts out..Apparently from whaT I have heard/read the OS cant withstand it .I cant speak first hand since I have never owned a Viojett..I have always ran dynamax's on my OS engines..But if you do a search you'll get much needed info on your question

Jeff,
I have first hand experience using the OS .91/Viojett combo. Although this combo will work it just isn't worth it in the long run. The stock OS piston and sleaves are pretty loose from the factory. They are that way so that they will be easy to run and break in fast right out of the box. Although these engines ran well, they just did not last very long in the high RPM Viojett application. I ran either Sig or WildCat low nitro fuels. When it came time to replace the piston and sleaves I went with a Dave Shadel piston/sleave and an RPM rod. This combo lasted a long time but for the money I spent on the engine and then the replacement parts I could have bought a BVM .91R. The rear bearings in these engines are junk (steel caged) and when they let go the engine was ruined. I would just step up and get a BVM .91 or .96 engine. These engines are very user friendly and so smooth---You won't be disappointed.
I wouldn't give you a plug nickel for the Rossi. Give me two dozen of them and you might have a good boat anchor.

Thank's guys for the help will either go with a BVM .91 or just buy a Ramtec ducted fan unit. But since os discontinued the OS .91VRDF I should just go with the BVM.91/Viojett combo.

Hi,
I don't know if 61 flights is considered a long tenure for a DF engine, but we ran an O.S. .91 in a Viojett fan for that duration and had spectacular performance. Later, before the plane was sold, we inspected it, and everything was perfect.
I was reluctant to try the combo because I had heard many horror stories about that combo. I placed a call to the Guru and he assured me that though the BVM engine was better, the O.S. would run fine in his fan. I tried it, and it worked fine. Good luck!
