Falcon 120

I would really like to do some snaps, flat spins and tumbles.
Let us know how they go. I'm not worried about the wings, they appear to be very sturdy. I am, however concerned about the booms. They don't appear to be as strong as I'd like. I have only three flights on mine. It has a Wren SS turned down to 14#. I haven't done any snaps, tumbles, etc. I'm concerned that the full 18# thrust of the SS might be too much. When I start flying it again in the spring I'll gradually work my way up to it.
I did read one posting from someone with a Ram750 on one but there was no mention of how hard he flew it. It would be interesting to hear from someone who has pushed the envelope.

Joe I was thinking the same thing, the booms are the weakest part of the plane. I have been checking the screws that hold the booms on and every thing is staying tight. I will start with a few slow snaps and work up. I don’t want to destroy it on the first few flights. I think it will be ok but just being careful. I did make all new formers and re glue. George

Goerge,
I think I read in the thread about the Falcon 150 that someone had done a “foam in place” to stiffen the tail booms. Worth checking it out.

Sid, I think you are thinking of the Formost 150 with the fibeglass booms, not the Falcon 120.
George, are you going to use the supplied nylon bolts for the booms or did you replace them with metal ones. I am wondering the same thing about snaps with mine. It's ready to go but I havent flown it yet.

Three more flights today, I did some avalanche’s and every thing stayed on. I did put steel bolts in the booms like Joe did. I also reglued the boom mounting plates. This is the best flying jet that I have owned. Perfect up and down lines stays on point with very little correction in slow roll’s and lands great. George
