Can the F-18 DF take off of grass fields.
Do the scale landing gear hold up.
Does the F-18 fly just as good and
fast as the Starfire ll DF.
Both jets are Yellow arfs.

I have built and flown both the Yellow F-18 and Starfire II. They do not fly the same! The Starfire is an excellent sport jet, similar in flying qualities to a Maverick. With a good engine/fan combination and a relatively smooth surface it can fly off of grass.

On the other hand, the F-18 is a scale airplane with very little wing surface and therefore a high wing loading. If flys well for a scale airplane but you have to takeoff and land faster and it is just not as maneuverable as a sport airplane. The landing gear is strong enough but the fuselage mounting and configuration make it fairly squirely on the ground. Unless your grass surface is very smooth (like a golf course green), and long I would not recommend trying to fly the F-18 off grass.
