Classic Jets Jet meeting fly fest!
Guys
Just unpacking from a wonderful day in Oxfordshire at one of Dick Spreadbury and teams excellent Classic Jets meetings.
Breakfast, lunch and all day drink provided with a wonderful mix of location and like minded people.
Flying buddy Trev commented he had not seen so much flying for a long time, everyone seemed to have a go. New models were test flown (I did 2 or 3 I forget!) and shown for the first time. Mick Burrell finally finished and flew his Airworld Hawk in Test Pilots Colours (yep be happy DG and GW!) not bad since I sold him the kit early in 2006!
MH kicked off early with his many Booster powered models and "forced" me to fly his Cermark F-16/Booster 80...loverly model with all that power that does not have to be used.
Pixs tell more-edit- Oh yes and the L-39 I borrowed for the JWM turned up in it's third colour scheme!
Thanks to all the helpers
Dave

Many thanks for sharing these pics of what looks like a great event. Just wish that i could afford a jet so i could be there with you all. Never mind, maybe one day.
It's people like you that inspire us in this great hobby of ours.

Treadstone,
It's an active airfield and used at weekends by full size so I believe Dick can't book it.

Yes it was a great day, 5 in the air almost all the day with a queue waiting to fly with engines running. Many thanks to Dick and his team.

Please may I take this opportunity to thank the Gentleman who alerted me to the fact that my model ( the DH Venom ), was experiencing rudder flutter in flight, neither I nor my spotter saw or heard this as there was too much background noise. The Gentleman in question noticed this as he was taking photos of the models in flight with a telephoto lens.
I think had the flutter gone on any longer I would have lost the model, fortunately, there was no damage apart from some paint flaking off the tail booms between the formers where the booms are the thinnest. Throttling back a little cured the flutter and I have now effected a fix to the issue.
Many thanks again !

ps The Hunter was Jeremy MacMillans.................................nice

I didn't manage to get away to take many pics - particularly disappointed I didn't catch Mick Burrel's DH Twin Boomer, it looked fantastic from where I was watching (kitchen!), as did Jeremy's Hunter. That said, everything brought along looked good and flew well. Thanks to all for a great day - there were loads of people taking pictures and if you were one of them, pse share them with us here or on the JMAs site (or both!). See you in July!

The Hunter is a Mick Reeves kit, finished by Jeremy. P120 powered.
My AW fuselage can be seen on the floor behind the van...unstarted.
Great day, I managed to fly Both EDF and Turbine Spark, Flash with DSX-9 2.4, BobCat Composite, Bandit ARF, my much loved Phase 3 F-16 and several friends/customers models...

Dr A, superb shots! I really need one of those 'grey' things to hang on the front of my Box Brownie! Any more to share?
Mick,
Thanks for that...I saw the 110 from a distance and it looks like it's a *****cat to fly - so much wing area! BTW, did the driver have a canopy to keep him warm, or was it the DH-110 Cabriolet version you modelled?
Hawk looks the mutts nuts!
Cheers,
Dick

Hey Harry,
Love the photo of my Hawk just after takeoff with the undercarriage retracting.
Would also like to add my thanks to the two flightline controllers, Phil Male and Andy Aldridge who spent all day keeping us all in check. Superb work by both of you and much appreciated by every pilot.
Geoff.
