Default Tamjet or SM or FB or JL Cockpit for a KC?

I received lots of great info on cockpits for my KingCat. thank you all for what you shared, especially Lee.

I did purchase a Blue Box F-15 cockpit and its very nice.....but apparently to install correctly in the KC would require removing all the components on the component board and I guess this close to flying it, and since i have such limited time, i am trying to avoid this approach.

And, I just got a Lightning, and apparently the BBI cockpit is more of a drop fit for that plane...we'll see.

anyhow, i have seen many pictures of great looking cockpits from SM and i thought from Tam. I cannot find out if they will fit a KingCat with little if any mods, and with leaving the components on the component board.

I have tried emailing all of the SM reps, but received only one reply that they would sell me one.

anyone know if any Tam, or SM, or JL, or FB cockpit fits into a KingCat???

thanks in advance.

I also need one for a Flash. Don't mean to hi-jack your thread.

It would help if you gave us the dimensions of the area you have in the kc, i don't think you will find anything that will be a drop in fit.

The blue box cockpit goes great in the KC, but does require some work. Go to my gallery and you can see a pic of it.

I assume you're just looking for a more "realistic" looking cockpit than the one available from BVM?

ok, here are the dimentions.

front to back, the edge of the cockpit lip (black part 20-5/8
width center right at the canopy hooks 5-15/16"
width in front of hoop 5-5/8"
width at far aft 3-3/4"

it flares out from behing the hoop to its widest point then tapers aft.

any input is greatly appreciated
