Got mine on order...along with the "twofer" deal for a couple AR9100's. Can't wait, though I'm still trying to find out if existing model setups can be tranferred over from the 10X using the Datasafe software or something like that.

It's about time to retire my 10X - I bought it new a few months after they were introduced. I just added up the total time count for the models I have used it the most on and it's well over 600 hrs. (one model time count has rolled over the 99 hr. display twice). Gotta love it!

Hey Ron, Let me know how it works. I planning on upgrading my old 10SX (wow that's old) to JR 12X.

Don't feel lonely, Eddie...I still occasionally use my 10SX and SXII ... just too lazy to reprogram when I get a new TX!

That's not bad, Yeahbaby (Buck G) still uses his old Century 10 (10S?) ....

Aparently it can't, according to the manual. For transfer to work BOTH Txs must be 12Xs.

Based on history with 10SX, 10SXII, and 10X - I'd say that this is very unlikely, unless you want to wait a long time for used 12X's to show up. This is a unique situation in that the demand will be high for a while as the migration to 2.4 continues. Unlike the past, there are compelling reasons to buy a 12X over staying with existing radios - more channels, integrated 2.4 capability, etc. - that will drive demand for a while. IMHO.

Even in the past, when there was little/no major new features or improvements (from 10SX to SXII to 10x, the changes were evolutionary - not revolutionary as with the 12X), the pricing did not come down notably from intro to the release of the next model TX.

On the other hand, it will be a GREAT time to buy a used 10X!

I can't wait to get my hands on one to call my own..........

I know I will have to reprogram. Here's the best benefit you get with this radio over the converted 2.4 10x: If you turn your airplane on while in the wrong model, your airplane won't freak out to the settings of the wrong model! Ask me how I know the 10x won't do that!

Plus, you get the true 2048 resolution, that is going to be one slick Willy!

That probably wont happen anytime soon. The 10x kept the same list price for 10 years. I guess if they keep the same list you will make out via inflation in a few years. Scott

Street price is about $1400, TX only...and Horizon has extended the RX two-for-one deal (2 RX's for one when ordered with the 12X).

You meant TX and Rx only right?

I see horizon still has the link for the free receiver offer, but when you click on it, you get an artical about The Mechanics of 3D Flight. I couldn't find anything on their site that mentioned that the giveaway was extended.......

Yep, forgot that it includes one R1221 RX as well - no servos though

The 2-1 deal was supposed to be for pre-orders through April, but apparently they extended it through May...according to a mailer I received from Airwild this week. To quote:

"The Great JR/Spektrum DSM2 Receiver Giveaway ... JR/Spektrum has extended the end date of this spectacular program from April 30, 2008, to May 31 for JR 12X purchase ONLY. For those who have patiently waited for this radio, your patience will not go unrewarded. Order your JR 12X and receive up to 2 additional DSM2 receivers free of charge from Horizon. So act soon and act now. According to JR/Spektrum this extension will not be renewed again. "

This is crazy to me, I looked at the programming and could not find any differences to the 10x. And I was looking for them.

Same as the 10X? That means it's definitely obtuse!

The 2 additional RX deal has been extended to postmark date of July 31 for 12X purchases.....you have to download the "Great 2.4 GHz DSM Giveaway Free Receiver Redemption Voucher" from the Horizon site.....only good for purchases thru June 30th from an authorized U.S. dealer..... form also states that "You will receive free identical receiver(s) with a limit of 2 per customer.....

Now that's a good deal, IMO, since the 1221's are going for around $229.00.......really knocks down the price of the 12X/1221 combo.....

Release date is May 10th or 12th is what I have heard......

The free RX deal on the Horizon site is a bad link......I forgot the trail to the Voucher, but if you search around the 12X info on their site, you will find it....

.......further info from Don's Hobby.....the voucher will come with the 12X box.......you then have to buy up to (2) 1221's I think from Horizon directly (not sure about that), send in the voucher with proof of purchase and they will refund the price of the 1221's.....as far as I know, each extra 1221 will come with 3 remotes.....

Looks to me like they have gone to a cricket cursor on the side of the screen instead of a touch screen? deal breaker....

I thought so too, till I used it, it is super simple to use, and it is not widely known, but a lot of guys had to have screens replaced at 300 clams a piece. Some guys had to pay for it, the screen simply went bad.

This screen is the same one used on the 9303, out of the hundreds or thousands out there, only three that I know of have gone in to service.

If JR does something that helps keep my radio from going back, I can learn to deal with it.
