How to use and install a Gyro on a jet ?
Hello
I plan to use a Gyro on my Composite ARF Lightning (maybe from Weatronic)
I think it would be interesting to find here some explanation about how to use gyro on our jets.
How to install a gyro in the fuse ?
How to use it ?
Mystakes to avoid...etc
I have never used gyro before and many jet modeller could be intererested.
Thanks
Jeanfi

RE: How to use and install a Gyro on a jet ?
Hi Jeanfi,
The most common use of Gyro in a jet model is for the steering servo (Normal Mode never use Head Lock type used in model helicopters). I have also seen gyro use in ailerons particularly with delta's for High Alpha flying, but I wouldn't suggest for Lightning since it is not a delta. I have also seen an interesting idea for using gyro on ailerons in combination with an air-speed sensor.. You can use a higher sensitivity for low airspeeds and almost no sensitivity for high speeds.

ALL I can say is don't do it, for get the gyro, I my jet went down because of a gyro $7000.00 going because of $125.00 gyro. if you can fly you don't need a gyro take it from me..

Thank you very much for your answers..
Here in France, we are six guys with different jets and we don't use any gyro...
So I think I will keep my money in my pocket and fly the lightning without gyro ;-)
Bye
