I know who has one!!!! Let me call him and see how much $$$ he wants for it.. I'll make sure to add my "VIG" of course... Sucks watching your homies fly the turbizzles don't it.... You need to pull the trigger senior... The longer you wait the less you play and the better "they get"!!!!

Hi Afterburner1,
Yeah I've been watching the other warbird pilots flying with them in formation, looks really fun. We're going to try to all get the same model and fly them together with similar setups. I want to get the F16 (imagine 6 of them in the air all in formation) but from what I hear any scale jet flies like cr@p. The best flying ones seem to be the purely fictious jets, (ex: stingray, hotshot, flash, etc). I'm just doing some homework right now, but I'll probably get at least an airframe within the next 2 weeks.

Having owned both of these planes, my preference would be the HotSpot. Its bigger and heavier, but much faster and more precise in trim I found. I was scheduled for a biz trip to Germany next month and I'd thought about finding a way to acquire another one while I was there... Strange the nobody seems to see a market for them in the US now, although the other ARF prices out there certainly put up a challenge.
On another note, Hey Shaun. When you get a free moment, could you PM me a price on a set of Stingray wings with the necessary spar / rotation pin hardware? I had a minor 'incident' with mine a while back and I might just decide to slap a new pair on as apposed to finding the time to properly fix the tips on the old wings...

Get the Stingray Dat. Then you, JJ and Matt can tear up the skies. If you get the Hotspot you'll have to go head to head with Rex and that will be a hard one to beat.
Both good planes, you can't go wrong with either one.
Billy
P.S. Hurry up already so you can come out and play too.

Hi Billy,
I looked at a jet today that I might get. Its the cermark F16 with a p60, RTF. Won't say who or how much but you can probably figure it out (He's not either of the Jim's nor Matt). I told him I would let him know what I want after I check out LA Jets. I'm very close to buying one since I have been selling my glow planes to make room

One more thing, just as I'm getting into jets with a beginner plane, Matt, Kenny, and probably JJ already have the Flash and the Titan. I feel like I'm always 2 steps behind.

Don't worry. I was just kidding. It isn't a race, just have fun and set your OWN goals. One day when were all old and grey we will be on the same level...........crash'n planes and pee'n our pants, those are the golden years.

I have a Hotspot for sale, with many extra spare parts, such as wings, stabilizers and a canopy . Following is a photo.

Hello Friends:
Not think more, the Hotspot is the best option. You see this video of the Lucciano Tacchelli from Brasil in the Coimbra Jets in Portugal.

I don't think your Ram 1000's will work in the hot spot either like you said in your p.m. they are too big for either air frame if you are serious.

RE: Where can I buy the yellow aircraft stingray or the hotspot?
My HotSpot's got a ~28lb thrust turbine and it really doesn't seem too over the top. I've had it that way since day one, detuned to ~20 lb for the first 5 flights or so. I've come to know many pilots who run theirs on P-120's and RAM 1000's and they love the combo... The P-80 size turbine can work fine, but the plane really comes alive with a few lb extra push...
Don't be afraid to push the limits with this airframe a bit, so long as you constrain the fins well to the fuselage side (to avoid flutter...) and do a robust build with the right equipment...

Well I stand corrected then, the only hotspot I have seen fly had a ram 500 and was on the fast side till flutter killed it. Now on the Stingray I guess you could put what ever you want, but I know it was built for the smaller turbines.

Sorry, didn't mean to stomp on you Tom...
Here's a couple videos of the HotSpot on mid to high 20's for thrust. The first is just me goofing around, nothing too crazy. The 2nd is a wide open high speed pass, which I think was still detuned a 2K from the top end.

The Stingray, the motor size is limited in the mount design. You cant easily mount a P-80-size turbine on it. I suppose you could always install a Wren 54 SS though since it could always do with more thrust ( ), but the residual might bite you eventually. Its a pretty slippery airframe and can be a bit tough to slow down at times. Mine bit me when it quickly transitioned from a bit too fast to a bit to slow... I basically roo-flopped it about 6" off the deck and tried to do a vertical landing.

RE: Where can I buy the yellow aircraft stingray or the hotspot?
Can anyone point me to a turbine faq? I've been talking about getting a jet all this time but I really don't know how to set one up or what are the different components of a jet.
