The St. Louis Radio Contol Flying Association is excited to host another great Event for you and we want to see many new faces this year as well as the Pilots from last year! We have so much in store for you guys this year its almost too much to mention. We are loaded with Sponsors this year and are proud to have: FTE, ZAP, FLY R/C, BVM, JetCat, Wren, Details 4 Scale, Pro-Mark Graphics, Schaefer's Hobby Shop, Mark Twain Hobbies, DC Graphics, SLRCFA and many more on board donating tons of gifts and prizes for the Pilots and of course 10 BEAUTIFUL Awards to boot!!!!!!!! Ron Ballard of Wren Turbines has offered to cook for the Pilots Friday night and Saturday night. Friday night is a FREE dinner sponsored by Wren Turbines and Saturday night will be free dinner with donations accepted for the World Jet Masters USA Team. The SLRCFA Club will provide pilots with a FREE lunch either Saturday or Sunday (your choice) and Registration is "On Site" at $40.00 per Pilot. We will have AWESOME newly designed Tee-shirts and Polo shirts available!
We will be rolling into the Field Wednesday afternoon and flying until Sunday late afternoon!!! Spectators by the thousands will support us once again Thursday - Sunday and Flying may commence at 9:30am to DARK!
It has been said by many that we have one of the nicest fields in the Midwest with a new 600' runway with 100' smooth grass runoffs at each end and you have to see it to believe it! We have OVER 650'x 10' wide taxiways so NO carrying your jet to the flight line at this Event! There is Electric available to overnight Campers (please contact me for a spot) and Porta Pottys, Bleachers, Pavilion with ceiling fans, etc. The SLRC Club is VERY excited to have you guys back once again and they are willing to prove to you guys that this will be an Event to remember! RE: 2nd Annual Gateway Jet Rally!!!
Hi Patrick,
I am looking forward to traveling down to your event and cooking for the pilots. The grille was christened at Winamac..and I now have the bugs worked out. An approximate head count would be very helpful for preparation. Maybe those attending could chime in here and help the cause...

RE: 2nd Annual Gateway Jet Rally!!!
We were very skeptical of the Event ever happening this year since in March '08 our Runway was 10' underwater! The Club has worked VERY hard to clean up the field, repair the fences, replace electrical outlets, repair bleachers, Rennovate some of the landscaping, re-seed the field and as you can see it is taking shape and the grass may be greener this year than ever before! We have spent over $5,000 in repairs and we need your support to replenish the Club's funds. Please support the St Louis Club and join us for an Event to remember!

Hi Patrick
I can not be there for the fun, but would like to register to help the club and the event. Can you send me a registration form?

Brutha Rob,
I will send you a registration form and we sure do appreciate your help! Can you please send me your mailing address?
Guys.................. all Registration fees and money earned from this Event goes directly to the Club. Some events put the money in a happy man's pocket but the money earned from Gateway Jets will help support the St Louis Club and keep it going strong. All prizes donated to this Event go directly to the Pilots - NOT a raffle that puts money in someones pocket. Sure hope we can see many new pilots this year [8D] We have ordered some beautiful flying weather so makes plans now

Delighted to learn that this dedicated RC Field positioned in a beautiful setting has recovered from the high water! All is well that ends well, huh? I sure hope the rain gods will be a lot more friendly this season.

Dennis - Please let Tom know that we would love to have him this year. I will give him a call in the next week and see dif he can make it. Nothing like attending a Jet Event in your back yard.
Rog - Lets hope and pray that the rain holds off this Summer. It wasnt good for us Jet Pilots last year. My business GROWS big time when we dont have much rain! (We install tons of irrigations systems when the ground is dry and we like that).

Swiss Rocket Man Shows Off Jet Wings
4 Jet Turbines Power 8-Foot Wings
BEX, Switzerland Who needs a plane when you have your own jet-powered wings?
Swiss pilot and extreme sports enthusiast Yves Rossy has spent years developing his 8-foot-long wings that are powered by four jet turbines. And he finally got to show them off on Wednesday.
There were gasps and cheers from a crowd on a Swiss mountain as Rossy, who calls himself "Fusion Man," stepped from a plane at 8,000 feet.
After gliding for a while, he fired up the four engines and flew. Rossy spent all of five minutes turning figure eights and soaring high above the Alps before his final trick, a 360-degree roll which he said was meant "to impress the girls."
He then landed at a nearby airport.
Rossy said his next goal is to use jet wings to fly across the English Channel later this year.
He told The Associated Press that he is also working on wings that will have bigger, more powerful engines that would allow him to fly through the Grand Canyon.
