Default Turbine FAQ for beginner?

I need a turbine FAQ, I can't seem to find one on the internet anywhere and no where on these forums (suprisingly). Does anyone know where I can find a beginner's guide to turbine?

Thanks

Dat , there is no " turbines for dummies" book out there. The best thing I would recommend is get a similar set up to someone you know at the field. Hands on is the best way, besides it's not really all that hard. Once everything is dialed in, it's easier than glow.

If you get a Jetcat motor, their instructions for seting up the electrical and plumbing are idoit proof. Everything else in the plane you should already know,( if not I would hold off a while).
Like I said before and I'll say it again. Your best bet for learning and have successful first flights will be the Baby boomer hands down.

Buy the looks of it, you will be better off down the road assembling your OWN jet rather than buying one already built by someone.

Grab me any day you see me at the field and I will explain why.

about the only FAQ on turbines is the 'Which brand is best'

you can get the instructions for the JetCat turbines from their website it'll explain allot about the turbine its self.

This is the best description of miniature turbine operation and maintenance that I have seen.

When you say "beginner's guide to turbine", are you talking about just the powerplant, so that you understand how it works, or are you talking about an intro to turbine powered models ?

If it's the former - there are a few books out there by the designers of some of the the original RC turbines, that provide some of the basics. Not necessarily helpful in how to run your jetcat / Wren / whatever, but interesting if you just want to understand a bit more of the basic "how does it work" stuff.

If it's the latter, Jeremy F. created an "introduction to tubine models" kinda thread here on RCU a while ago. See http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_11...tm.htm#1109761 ; while it is a few years old, I'm sure that there is still relevance to many of the posts.

Other than that, as Billy said just come out with the Jet guys in your area and start asking questions.
