Default Removing that baked on grunge !

Hi Guys,

Does anyone have an easy and effective way of removing the baked on grunge that accumulates under the tailpipe of some engines . I have one that I would like to clean up a bit.

Thanks,
Marc

Hi Marc,

If the area is not painted, try Easy Off oven cleaner.....but protect your eyes and hands....it's nasty stuff.....

Mark,
I have used anti-freeze in an old crock pot to clean glow engines. I was amazed at how well it works. Turn the crock pot on and leave it overnight and the engines look new the next day.

I was going to suggest the same things ie. oven cleaner or the crock pot. If it's just on the tailcone remove it and cook overnight However don't put the whole engine in the pot[X(]

Thanks guys ! The little bit on the flange I would remove with an abrasive wheel on my Dremel. I don't want to do that on the case itself so I don't mess up the anodising . I was thinking that oven cleaner may work .

Dawn Power Dissolver works great and it's not nearly as harmful to you as anti-freeze or Easy Off.

Be careful as some oven cleaners will remove anodising. Your Jetcat will look like a Ram !

Thanks for the warning . I would definitely be concerned if it made my engine run like the RAM 500 I once had !

I'll go to Wally World and see if they cary it.

I can confirm that ! I tried a little bit of Easy Off and it affected the anodising . Oh well , still looks better without all the grunge ! I couldn't find the Dawn Power Dissolver anywhere ?
