Default Jet Legend assembly Hiccup

Hi Guys,
Assembling my JL F-15, diccovered the front retract cylinder is leaking badly at the shaft seal. Do you have any advice the make it stop ? PLEASE make it STOP !! I've contacted CamLex, hopefully for a speedy replacement.
Thanks,
Dale

Hi Dale.
Disassemble the entire unit. Wipe all the grease off and inspect the shaft (for burrs) and O ring for tears. Replace the o rings if needed and polish any burrs down. Then reassemble with your favorite lubricant. I use synthetic wheel bearing grease on every retract I own. Completely disassembling, inspecting and reassembling is part of my build routine. I just have to look inside. I like to reassemble with locktite. More than once I have found dry o rings or metal debris inside. I'll see ya this weekend.

Also check to make sure that the shaft is not bent at all.

Camlex got back and said to try BVM o-ring stuff. If that doesn't work, send them the entire retract and they will get JL to replace. ( that sounds lengthy ), so I will oder some stuff on Tuesday, and give it a try.

Dom,
I have witnessed Captain Crackers sliding 'er in , several times, I think he just likes to show off . I prefer the boring old wheels landing. In fact, the more boring the better.
