Fentress 08 Pictures
Well since no one has started a picture/video thread, I figure I'll do it. I saw a lot of still and video cameras at the event so post em here. I was only there on Saturday but it was three days of great weather so there should be a lot of great pics.

Okay, these will definitely not be as NICE as AB's, but at least my buddy took the time to shoot some pics so I could enjoy the entire event.
I'm not sure how to do the "BIG" pics in the message either, so I'll just be doin' old school. We'll start with some of the planes that were there.

The last but not the least, the misc. category.
-A local, John "Uncle Jack" Smith blowing the dust of the KingCat.
-Lee R. from MD with the late Robert Hayes' son getting the Euro ready for some buddy-box time.
-Ron Stahl and Othello "Buddy" from MD.
-Bruce Hanson bringing the Reaction in from another successful flight.
-Jack again with Frank Rega Jr. looking on.
-Bob Fiorenzi "starting" his Electra.
-And yours truly .
Hopefully we'll see all you guys again next year and for those of you who couldn't make it, you missed a great time and put it on your calender for next year.

George,
I so wanted to get pics of your F-14 in flight. By the time I realized you put her in the air and I got my camera, you were on the ground already. Maybe next year if you still have it in your extensive(rotating)hangar.

I wish you would have gotten the F-14 too! The 14 doesn't carry much fuel and I always like to give myself some buffer just in case I have to go around, that puts me about 5 min.; but I have been landing with one set of tanks full, so maybe I can stretch it to 5 1/2 min. The shots you put up are absolutely AWESOME, especially the ones of my dead stick L-39, F-100 & Euro.
Thanks again!

I really like taking pics of jets but I like flying them a bit more. Maybe next year I can do both days and get more flying and picture taking in.

RE: Official Fentress 08 Pictures
Hey guys,, I was there on Saturday and took some pics,, I was there to watch my two buddies, Larry Lewis and Robert Vess, I am probrably going to jump into the turbines in a month or two, I learned alot this weekend, I asked alot of questions, and Larry and Robert showed me alot,, I have been flying Giant Scale Airplanes 35%-40% for 7 years, and helicopters for 3 years,, I am now ready to zoom and boom,, but anyway I saw you flying abunch George, I liked the Eurosport (swiss scheme) of yours, that is the first one I have seen in real life, I can't decide what to get first, I live in Goldsboro, NC www.wayneaero.com and we fly off of grass, however our grass runway is always cut close, and is the smoothest in NC, no bumps, hills, holes, nothing,,,, so it should work out great,, but if you guys have any comments or suggestions on a first jet, let me know, I am not worrying about the flying part, I just want something that would go good off of grass,, I was thinking of going with something like larry had in the 6th picture on the post under here, the orange bobcat copy, with a 17lb turbine on it,, something affordable to start with,,

Jon, sorry I didn't get to meet you personally, but thanks for coming and as you learned, rallies are the best place to learn and SEE the hardware in action to make your introduction into turbines easier.
The Euro would be great from grass, especially with the new Pro-Link trailing gear on it, but would much more than Larry's Falcon/JetJoe combo (although I know he had some engine issues this weekend) which could end up costing you more in the long-run IF you have a problem. There are many great airframe and engine combos to choose from, just take guidance from Larry & Robert and you should do fine.

Marty,
AWSOME PHOTOS. I already made this one my desktop background.
As usual I had a great time at Fentress. I little more carnage than I am used to, but a great event with a great turn out of 52 (or 53) pilots, a new event record.
Frank and the Tidewater group, thanks for contiuing to put on this event, what an increadible place to fly.

I was only there for one day(Saturday) and there was a fair bit of "carnage" as you said but it was a great time.
