I am going back to DC for a week of meetings, but my evenings are free.

I will be there June 2-6, leaving on the 5th. are there any Jet fields that you could recommend visiting? i won't have a plane but i do like to get out and about and see what is new.

I will also be in San Diego June 9-12. some after work time may be free.....

any info is greatly appreciated!!!

I DC, the closest field with some jet guys is probably DCRC in Germantown, MD.

There are 4 or 5 jet guys in that club and they are active flyers...

In San Diego, there is only one field that is really suitable to turbines, and that is the Miramar RC Flyers club filed at MCAS Miramar. I'll be in Germany and the UK while you are here, but PM or Email me and I'll get you the name of another local jet flyer. You might also check in with John Weaver at Discount Hobby Warehouse.

About 45 minutes north is MCS Camp Pendlton, with an active contingent of jet flyers. The flying site is also on a military facility, so access is limited. Look up Afterburner (Dougie Fresh) or Joe McBride here, they might be able to help you.

Wednesday is jet day at the DCRC field. Andy Kane, Nir, and Andy Fenisio are usually there.

I'll be in San Diego also that week, going to AUVSI conference. It would be great to see some jet guys while I'm there!

I will be at the AUVSI conference also. It would be great to get to Miramar, or Pendlton. My buddy was CO of HMLA-775 in 05 and 06, but he is retired now, so I am sure i have to have someone get me on base.

Excellent idea at AUVSI for a lunch get together. That would be a good idea. and you guys can give me my intro jet education!
