Does anyone know what general aviation airport is closest to the TIMPA field? Jason says I smell and does not want to ride in the car with me so, he may fly

Hi Bob & Jason. Did some checking for you. There appears to be an airport 5 miles south of Marana. Check this site out:
www.airnav.com/airport/KAVQ
Hope this helps!

Ryan is the closest to TIMPA. Flew over it a lot when I lived in Sierra Vista.
Geez, you give him a model and he won't even help you with the drive! You make sure you take care of his airplane on the drive over. At least you're making the smart decision and not flying with him!

Thanx Spence!! AVQ looks perfect and they have hangars available.

Just kidding Jason! Guess I should have added the VBG.
I've been to Avra Valley a few times. It's a neat place, lots of cool stuff there. The Coor's Light Silver Bullet BD-5 is there. Maybe you can talk 'em into a ride!
So what's the new plane?
See ya at Tucson.

I love watching Jason fly his Pitts. Especially with my feet on the ground at a safe distance.
Talk about being close, could you imagine the two of us in a single place Pitts!

I made a trip from Ft. Huachuca to Eugene OR with me and a friend for the Masters tournamnet in 1993. Now my friend's not as big as me, but nearly. Talk about a filled up 182! It was fun though.
Maybe he can give us a lunch time air show with the Pitts. You think he'll do his "How low can you go" routine? Remember Jason, outside edge of runway.

Flying GA into Marana would probably be the best... VFR only though --- not like we really have to worry about that in AZ... I was thinking of flying GA to this event earlier in the year and that was the field that looked best.... a friend flew at an aerobatic competition there a while back and he could see TIMPA from the aerobatic box near Marana. hope this helps

I am now in possession of my HotSpot, again. When does that 9/10s thing start? I have Jason’s P80 on it as well.
Jason needed a better plane and the BobCat really looks awesome. Of course, my P120 makes it look even better. I guess Jason wins again! Some guys have all the luck.
We are all packed up and ready to go!

I wont be flyin to Tuscon -- weather is forecasted to be shady in L.A. on Sunday. It's a bit constricting being VFR/Day limited. Anyone got anice A-36?
Leaving for Tuscon spending the night in PHX.
See ya there!!!
