Just recieved some decals from tailor made , the one that are water slide . I am putting them on a plane that is finished and do not want to clear coat. Is there a way to seal the decals after they are dry. I try to wax but the print comes off the decal. Also I tried a clear coat enamel with a small paint brush , that didnt work either. It is a high gloss sport plane that is painted in the mold so anything like trying to paint over just the decal will show up like a sore thumb?? The reason now that I dont want to clear coat is cause its to late, I was to anctious when I got them and didnt think. To late to scotchbrite the fuse cause the decals are on the plane already. I just couldnt wait , just started putting those little suckers on and couldnt stop It was like I was posessed. Now Im scared to even clean the plane.

Plastic modelers use lacquer overcoats to seal decals. I personally use Model Masters Gloss Coat. Not as heavy as an automotive clear coat. Try it on a small surface and see if you like the results.
