Default Question re Weatronics RX Antenna

Hi Guys,

I just picked up a 2nd hand weatronics which has had it's antenna cut down to accomodate whip antennas. In my plane the legnth of the wire to the whip is quite a bit shorter than where i need to put it. I think i read somewhere that as long as the rx is over 1m it is ok.

My question is: can I solder on an extention to the current wire (so cut my exisiting antenna and add another foot befor the whip, or would I be better soldering a whole new wire from the board?

Thanks

Jeremy

Just solder in an extension and cover it with a bit of heat shrink. The Rx will not even know you've done it. Important thing is to ensure the aerial total length is not SHORTER than 1 M.

Wonderful device.

Regards,

David.
